Wireless Charging for Electric Vehicles

Wireless Charging for Electric Vehicles

CHARGING IS GETTING A WHOLE LOT EASIER FOR
ELECTRIC VEHICLES. PRETTY SOON YOU WON’T EVEN HAVE TO PLUG-IN
TO POWER UP. HI, I’M NAY CHEHAB IN THE ENERGY DEPARTMENT’S
VEHICLE TECHNOLOGIES OFFICE. GOING WIRELESS IS THE DREAM FOR MOST CONSUMERS…AND
THANKS TO A PROJECT WE’RE SUPPORTING WITH OAK RIDGE NATIONAL LABORATORY…. E-V DRIVERS COULD SOON BE PULLING THE PLUG
ON THEIR CHARGING STATIONS. THE LAB’S WIRELESS POWER TRANSER PROJECT
RECENTLY RECEIVED A SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD BY R&D MAGAZINE FOR INNOVATION. THE LAB TEAMED UP WITH INDUSTRY TO DEVELOP
THE WORLD’S FIRST 20-KILOWATT WIRELESS CHARGING SYSTEM FOR PASSENGER CARS. THE ELECTRIC CURRENT IS TRANSFERRED BY CREATING
A MAGNETIC FIELD BETWEEN A TRANSMITTING PAD ON THE GROUND AND A RECEIVING PAD LOCATED
UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE SYSTEM IS 90 PERCENT EFFICIENT WHILE CHARGING
AT THREE TIMES THE POWER RATING OF A CONVENTIONAL CHARGER. THIS MEANS THAT YOU CAN RECHARGE AN AVERAGE
ALL-ELECTRIC VEHICLE IN ONE TO TWO HOURS….OR A HYBRID PLUG-IN IN LESS THAN A HOUR. Just the idea of being able to pull up over
the top of a charging pad, get out of MY vehicle and walk away, that’s a huge convenience
issue for me and a big benefit. OAK RIDGE IS ONE OF 11 NATIONAL LABS TAKING
HOME A R&D 100 AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT. 32 OUT OF THE TOP 100 INNOVATIONS RECOGNIZED
BY THE MAGAZINE WERE SUPPORTED BY THE ENERGY DEPARTMENT. TO LEARN MORE ABOUT WIRELESS CHARGING AND

  2. Hey! This is laSexta TV, from Spain. We will include some shooting of this video in our News bulletin to make a little piece about alternative cars if you agree. Would you have some inconvenient? We will credit you (your YouTube channel) as the source of it. Thanks in advance and have a nice day!

  3. Wireless charging enables a great opportunity for automobiles to go more autonomous as we see in Hyundai cars – my blog post on wireless charging might be helpful- Is wireless charging going to be a future of electric vehicle charging? @ http://www.murali.today/wireless-charging-future-of-electric-vehicle-charging/

  4. Nikola Tesla was talking about this over a hundred years ago only he used surface wave technology. Look up a company called Texzon. They're bringing Tesla's vision to life.

  5. Nice tutorial..मैं भी यहाँ से सीख कर अपना project बनाया हूँ https://youtu.be/3yDPdK0GpCA ..sir please ऐसे ही और vedio banavo ..
