ah what’s up guys I got another job for the second time in the past couple months let’s see I was like Carmack’s I was at this place called ambos Autoplex that didn’t work out now I’m a Lexus technician I never thought I’d be a Lexus tech but Here I am I guess I’m kind of like a shop for I guess you would say just kind of bouncing around so I find a good spot but yeah but used-car Tech and I thought it’d be cool to kind of vlog my days just my daily routine my jobs the stuff I got to do so my main what I mainly do is you know being a used car tech probably bout 90% of the cars I work on are uh just used Lexuses they could be one year old like a couple of thousand miles or they could be ten years old over a hundred thousand miles and every once in a while we get like these random well let me show you this is pretty random that right now I’m test driving a Volvo v50 station wagon with the six-speed the chick-fil-a on the floor so yeah I’m gonna head back to the shop and just show you my daily routine I think this would be pretty cool notice this far as the pulsation so that’s a quick way to make money like when I hit the brake see this thing will just kind of shape so I’m gonna go ahead and write that up here at Lexus that pays for resurface tee pads and the rotors base two and a half hours so my boys just trying to look out for obvious things that get approved like alignments grateful station stared old shakes and how we speeds if we’re gonna bounce the tires and whatnot I basically just you know looking for things the customer could complain about so for sure this Karthik regulation pretty bad any take care of that so these are the cars are working on this are actually fifty and that’s you at a Highlander on this Highland Drive just hit up will take it the front brake pads in I’ll be ready to get this out of here so as soon as I got back from lunch the cells guys telling me he needs this car right like right now you know I still got to do the oil change got to look through the entire car drive it state inspection just you know some crap you’re gonna do since I was a technician they don’t understand like if it does need something if I need to order something it’s no it’s not gonna be ready today and yeah it has an air bag lied to you so what if I need to order something for that air bag and I don’t know it’s just kind of frustrating cuz they expect it to be done right now today in a couple of hours but obviously that can’t happen I need to hook up my scanner and see what their air bag why they’re making light is on someone to find out why the air bag light is on on this car this sounds do need so desperately let’s see open inside squid circuits currently history food so is there open circuit and ok I’m gonna find out exactly what that code is for so every car in specs I got a test the battery make sure the you know battery and charger system are good but after that’s I gotta come over here you get a printouts then we give to the customer every buys the car all right good enough that’s the best copy that I could gets there’s a lot of people work involved in being a Lexus tech all right we will check to see if the brake pads are in and so I can do the oil change on this get it out of here you little change in the rx350 that the soldier is waiting on so before I do the final test run for the Highlander I was kind of looking a part of that air back code or what it means being one one six open inside air bag left side so it’s the driver seat air bag so I got the part number at page two point four I’m gonna go price it out see how much they’re back cost okay just go to the parts department and impress with this air bag I’m gonna see it’s like 400 bucks so before I bring in that rx350 I need you like the second test drive on this Toyota Highlander just make sure everything is all straight before I move on to next car the test drive at this place is super super short and I car backs we’d have to drive like ten miles before and after the inspection of the vehicle but here I’ll probably just show you the entire test drive of this one video just I come out here make this u-turn sometimes there’s hobos hiding up under this bridge and basically I’m just gonna go to the Lexi turn and go back to the dealership and I’m done it might be like maybe a model I did quite a bit to this Highlander I did lower control arms which came with the ball joints brake pads front and rear machine the rotors didn’t damn I still need to do an alignment on this car yeah when I did the lower control arms I had a low loosen the lower subframe – uh that’s a pain in my ass doing that doing the low controllers in this car because you have to take out the the motor mounts that go between the subframe the engine and I had to loosen the subframe to lower it to make to give clearance and I think that shifted the subframe just enough to tweak the steering wheel so I need to put this on I’m in Iraq and you get it squared up again Dan that sucks I was really hoping to be done with this car [Music] pretty sure it’s just gonna be the tow that’s off so I’m just gonna adjust the tow get this know straight make sure the the steerer head is dead center should be good enough nice and centered it’s good enough actually doesn’t have a caster adjustment you can go to illustrate adjustments this manufacturer does not specify a caster adjustment so really all it is is cambrian so camber is in the grain good enough so I’m just gonna just set the tool and let it go almost half a turn more it’ll probably be good [Music] Hey okay second test drive you can kind of tell like naturally in what way well we’ll position the steering wheel CEO naturally if the lemons can be good or not and already it naturally wants to be centered or so that’s a good sign well I really don’t want to do it again because I hate you in alignments especially when it’s hot as hell outside so I’m really not gonna be able to town so I can make a u-turn to get on the straight piece of road but it already looks like it’s probably gonna be good in the used car world it’s pretty much just you know getting it good enough it’s like they want to put as little into the car and get as much they can out of the car well I’m getting some crazy glares I think that’s oil on the screen on the camera or on once I give it so yeah in like the used car industry whatever you want to call it it’s like um it’s that’s kind of like the mentality that you get from the from the company and from the text almost it’s like you know they want to spit as low in the car to make it as appealing as possible but like first glance to the customer you know all the all the obvious things you know the things like you know like I was saying the brake will satiate the tire vibrations the spells and interior pieces that are obviously the AC in here or big ones and like from the driver’s perspective the point of view like what is obvious to the driver you no wonder they get or what are they gonna notice first it’s pretty much like what they want to go after you know if like they are like a leaking struck strut or shock or I don’t know things that were like maybe some small oil leaks things like that something that if you clean off and the customer probably would never realize or after the not they’re not gonna fix it it’s crazy but uh yeah yeah this rule it is that’s just like the Sun is is giving like a crooked shadow but sumo straight that’s not perfect it might be like half a degree off but it’s good enough all right so now did I know this drive straight no rattles clucks I’m gonna go ahead and just Park it move on to the rx350 that the sales guy was bugging me about so like so I got the price with the airbag ride it was like 580 dollars I’ve got to get that price and run it down to the used car manager and he’s got to prove the repair like he has to approve the ticket and then I could order it from the parts department and uh since this guy wants this car today like this sounds good I think she’s gonna sell it today he’s not unless he tells the customer you know you gotta bring the car back when the part gets and so I can install it blah blah blah I don’t know but it’s you know it is what it is as far as it needs repair and needs the airbag there’s nothing I can do to make that happen you know faster than the park game here whenever it gets here and me putting it in in the 2 or 2.5 to 3 hours it takes to install it you know that’s out of my control so I’m just gonna tell the cells do like hey man you know so this is a situation either the customer waits a week you know he can buy it next week fixed or he takes it now or you have to bring it back so I can fix it you know it’s pretty much only two options so okay I need to stick this in the used-car lot yeah you sure he runs a lot a little bit some palm trees this is like this service like customer parts like retail and stuff a whole lot of construction in the back they are building us a new shop with AC it says they’re gonna have AC I can’t wait so that’s done I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be this building right here I think that needs to be old skating rink and the shop is in there you can already see some progress being made but yeah in the shop right now no you see obviously all the open open bays and everything there’s might be right there just behind the shop so even being a used-car Tech it’s like I will I working like a 90% Lexus’s I think I was telling you earlier like if it wants to all get this odd Volvo or four-door Honda ooh I was just gonna work yeah take this over here this is the used car side and I’m really like these lx570 that’s like the ultimate family ride Oh being a Lexus dealership you don’t really work on trucks so that’s that’s pretty cool man I don’t I don’t know where to park this I shouldn’t park it with those Alex my sanity’s this piece of Pro put it on this row yeah those Alex Wyse and buddies man they’re freakin nice that’s like the closest thing to a truck we get probably as far as let you know the size and I was told they can get up to like $100,000 when they’re all fully uh fully loaded definitely what I’m writing one of those but costs as much as a house damn near so I’m driving this rx350 I’d cleared the air back light just to see if it would come right back and it did they came back and uh like 30 seconds on this test drive but I didn’t notice this noodle is shaking going around 60 miles an hour if I let go of it it is shaking and so that sounds me I need to balance the tires and that I think that pays an hour I’m still getting the hang of all the labor times here at Lexus but it’s like it’s point five it’s higher you’re almost like no matter what you do almost that’s not too bad probably getting away without doing it on this one that doesn’t need it so a part of being a used-car tech or Eddie Tech really so you’re going to work close with like Evie if it’s your manager or whoever’s gonna be approved in sequence right they’re gonna see a pattern of what you like to write up and how often and it’s it’s good not to keep using the same lines over and over and over again like the easy bunny makers like I don’t I don’t mind resurfacing rotors especially here at the p2 a half hours but I can’t just do that on every single ticket like I gotta make sure it really freakin needs it you know I don’t want to take advantage of them I don’t want them to not trust me and pretty much be like double-checking my tickets you know thinking I’m just trying to scan them out of some hours you know I don’t want them thinking that especially some of the new guy here I want them to you know trust me and believe you know when I say a car needs something that actually needs it so yeah it did it does post a very little but it’s not bad amounts to actually you know I don’t think it needs to be resurfaced comparing it away what the customer not noticing the slight break pulsation but what’s what’s worse than that is the vibration from the tires we gotta balance bouncing tires all right so now I gotta get this ticket approved by the sales manager basically just the airbag I don’t know if you wanna do that tire it’s that one okay it’s for the matching drop the spear and then okay let me make sure it’s at the wheels that’s like a full-size match and everything I think Maddie was you go yeah but if it is off you that okay but I got the go-ahead for the air bag okay I forgot to do a state inspection on that a Highlander I had so much on the ticket I kind of just got got carried away you know I you know I did the control arms the alignment brake pads all right and we’ll change it a whole bunch of forgot to do the inspection happens we go grab it and knock out the steak because I really want to get this locked out the paper it ends tomorrow and I think I had at least 15 or 16 hours on this Highlander so yeah I definitely need to get this flag on this is this paper way to find some cash I would definitely go to get a popsicle right now honey debrief someone’s tomorrow they’ve seen ice cream trucks not by I do the show that’s pretty cool are you smart actually what the Hodges sure wish I had a way ice cream or something right now okay so tech or used-car Tech or anything like that get your stay inspector license it’s uh it’s probably one of the easiest things you can do to earn anywhere from 0.5 to 1 hour are you gonna do is hit some keys a couple times it takes about five minutes on the computer to earn at least half an hour maybe point eight maybe one hour I mean every place pay is a little bit different but it’s very easy I’ve seen some text where they don’t have their stay inspector license so they got to do the full vehicle inspection and let somebody else do the say inspection they’re basically just given away some of the easiest money he can earn so get your st. spec license for sure easy money buy me a popsicle then I want that bubblegum so apparently somebody bought everyone a snow cones or some off possession truck go over here and see what’s up yeah okay then you’re alright Ron makes it cut hey just in time so what’s the deal here thank you [Music] [Applause] body shop the in after body shop we’re gonna go to car wash I’ll take one of the fudge of bananas there you go whatever wrong thank you again and one more hell yeah [Applause] I was just playing with somebody actually Barbie a popsicle yep so after all that complaining that dude the the sales guy was doing for this rx350 who seem like he needs it by one and then bla bla bla I had to press the parts the parts are I’m going to use the next week anyway and then he comes back and says he says that I can take my time because the customer canceled his appointment today to buy the car like like it even matters anyway I mean if you need you know I don’t sometimes it could be a little weird the relationship between the text and the sales people it’s like they they just want to skip the middleman it’s like like like for this car and it’s an airbag right and that’s before I looked over the entire car so he was like did you did you get it approved did you check it out you know that you go to this manager and get the okay to order the airbag the only thing is all I did was hook up my scanner real quick just to find out where the light was on I had I hadn’t done the whole change I didn’t left the car look underneath it look for leaks this and that but uh I was like man I’m not ready for the proof yet like I have to go with them with everything on the ticket like all everything needs to be approved these to be on the ticket at once later they don’t walk back and forth nonsense wasting the time you know getting three four approvals they just want everything over one big ticket one big approval and be done with it and get the car out of here it’s like this that sounds guy doesn’t understand that but all I then I’m meeting was a just the airbag and one tire I’m gonna he wanted me to check to see if the spare was good but it’s not the spares trash so yeah and you know I did the whole change in the state inspection that’s all I could do for now now I’m gonna Park it and get back on the Volvo I had this morning so that was I had to Volvo like ten and let’s see I had to finish up the Highlander I got kind of sidetracked with its rst fifty and it’s already like almost four o’clock and I’m barely getting back on the Volvo that I shot at knockout this morning so yeah then I need to kind of catch up every once so I’ll kind of need a break you know it could be pretty stressful dealing with different managers and sales people and this event of people demanding that work to be done now versus taking priority over some other job this is out of their just steep a little things gonna get to you so I like to give myself a minute especially being hot I sit in the EC for a couple minutes if I need to I can like come up with a plan you know what my next job is gonna be hardwood attack it what I needed you first it’s already about four o’clock on this Volvo I already test drove it or any to the state inspection I think I’m just gonna be the oil change well before I do the whole change I need to I need to look underneath the car look at the tires you get the brakes all that stuff I’m sure it’s gonna be okay that Carly’s really clean do the whole change and that’s probably all that car is gonna need I’m just going to finish that today yeah so a four o’clock let’s see I get off at 6:00 I basically start winding down I did laughter four o’clock I’ll definitely say that I just do do something easy like look through this car new oil change and you know maybe a inspection if I need to do one I like to do like the I guess they have your work I like to do like almost like first thing in the morning you know like get some breakfast gets on the drink and then I don’t know from like like 9:00 it’s a lunchtime I can bust my ass pretty good and after lunchtime depending on what I eat I can kind of slow down if I had a heavy lunch or something like that I’m not really in the mood to kind of bust my ass or bend over get under her car and whatever and then I can kind of pick back up towards the end of the day I don’t know if I’m even gonna post this video but if you like it I could do almost like a I don’t know about daily it’s a lot of work making this videos like daily or every other day weekly vlog something like a technician vlog technician diary or something like that I don’t know what I’m gonna do it yet but it’s it’s damn hot to be working on my cars on the hardness man it’s it’s hot as hell in Texas the heat index is like over a hundred I think we’re like mortal for the other day it’s it’s just hot you know I work five days a week and then six days on the like rotation and I’m just on that Sunday I’m off for the Saturday and Sunday I’m just it’s hard for me to get outside of work in the cars really really hard what’s nice about this place though is they said they would let me work in the car in the shop like after hours so we close at 6:00 I could work it off for like 6:00 to 7:30 or something like that and on the Saturday that I’m off they said I could bring my cars in on Saturday a worker and using my bein like that so that’d be really cool really helpful to use the lifts and all my tools is up here at work definitely pretty helpful to do some work because even though it’s an outdoor environment at least it’s in the shade and there’s like these giant shop fans you know it’s not as bad as being directly into the Sun you know it’s if it feels like a hundred out here it’s probably like I don’t know 85 maybe in the shop maybe nightie I don’t know what side I’m getting used to it already I’ve only been like a week Sun is uh it’s not too bad just check it out this Volvo right now I just check all the pads the shocks are leaking any like wear and tear items you don’t know what torn bushings the end links specially the tires are good a lot of tread everything looks good no leaks cars look pretty good front and rear this one did have brake pulsation though I forgot about that I mean machine the front rotors I think that was it on this car so it’s about 4:30 like I said I did the state inspection I already changed the oil just now and I got the approval to go ahead machine the front rotors that’s all I need to do to this car is turn the rotors it has some pulsation and what a lot of the guys used here is a non car brake lathe what I’m used to using is a off car brake line which just like a standalone machine where this one mounts up to the rotor while it’s on the car or any machine it mounted it took me a couple tries to figure it out but I finally got it it’s it’s pretty easy to use we’ll go ahead and turn these rotors and got this car out so before I knew it I had like 30 minutes of footage I’m gonna have to edit cut down but uh let me know in
