let’s go ahead and get started good morning everyone so I’d like to welcome all of you to day two of unities Auto Tech summit I hope you all found yesterday’s presentations to be informative and inspiring I think the examples of what customers are doing using unity building on top of unity as a platform is is exciting it’s exciting for me I hope it’s exciting for you as well I would also like to add if you haven’t had a chance to visit some of our partners down on the exhibit floor particularly in the auto tech area but really everywhere in the exhibit floor I would encourage you to take some time and walk around and and talk to people during the break certainly I’m gonna mention a couple of partners during my presentation this morning pixies is right in the middle of the show floor and the guys from pixies are here and would would love to have the opportunity to talk with you algorithmic is down there gravity sketch is down there we have a few different partners who were on the show floor and of course other partners like world and others throughout the throughout the building we’ve got a lot of great content today here in day two as well and so I really hope that you you get as much out of day two as you got out of day one yesterday so what I’m gonna do this morning is I’m gonna kick off the day by talking about our plans in automotive and I’m gonna start by talking about some of the trends in automotive why unity is focused on automotive and really the the core strategy that underlies everything that we’re doing but first I’ll give you a brief introduction so I met Martin I’m unities product manager for automotive I have a long history longer than I want to admit in the automotive industry both in working for OEM suppliers and in the software business and I’ve been with unity for a year and it’s been really an exciting time and I want to you know share with you our vision for what we’re building for you to help you use unity more effectively than ever so my topic in my presentation today is the road ahead from a features perspective I’m going to keep most of my focus on the near-term after all what we’re building now is what’s most important to you but I’m also going to talk about our broader vision and automotive that guides the product plan a natural question that anybody might ask is why why is unity focusing on automotive and why should you care about what we’re doing so everything that we do stems from this one word question why and the answer is everything that we’re doing is really being driven by four key trends that are transforming the automotive industry in ways that really drive a need for unity in fact I would go so far that you really can’t meet the challenges and truly succeed to meet these challenges without using real-time 3d experience to to essentially transform your process I’ll admit these are not the only trends within the automotive industry that that you’re facing for example there are challenges in electrification there regulatory challenges there are other things that go above and beyond but I think that these four key trends are really driving a profound change that’s going to change the industry forever the first of these trends is digital experience and I’m really talking about this from a consumer perspective consumers are relying more and more on digital experiences at every step of the process from when they first consider the need for their solutions for transportation to the delivery and post delivery process and if any element of your customer experience is missing a digital channel you really you’re missing out on an opportunity to engage with your customer in a way that deepens the relationship the second trend is mobility as a service in many ways this is another facet to the first trend because there’s really a connection between digital experience and the ability to deliver mobility as a service but it has important vacations it’s changing the very way in which customers consume transportation with models ranging from ride-hailing services to traditional purchase models and everything in between thing is if you were born before roughly the mid-1990s then you grew up with a car as an aspiration as a as a means to freedom as something that you you look to is almost an extension of yourself but if you were born after 2000 then that mental model has changed the car isn’t the same kind of ticket freedom and and adulthood that it was before it’s a bit of a means to an end and so demographics and psychographics are changing the attitudes people have towards transportation and of course that I’m not saying that this is a bad thing but it raises new challenges for us the the third trend is autonomous transportation it doesn’t matter whether you’re a zealot for the technology where you think you know some people are you know say you know within two or three years car you know we’re gonna hit the tipping point autonomous or whether you’re a skeptic and you think it’s going to take 15 years really all that we’re arguing about is how long it’s going to take the trend is inevitable and really once level for autonomy is pervasive it’s going to completely transform our relationship with cars the idea of driver and passenger and all of the social dynamics that go along with that are going to be completely upended and of course that combined with mobility as a service again is going to fundamentally change the way in which we interact with transportation and the fourth and final trend is the connected vehicle in in many ways this is one of the trends that’s already here just about every new vehicle that sold has 4G connectivity it’s really not going to be long before we’ve got 5g connectivity and I would argue that the impact of this connectivity to date has barely scratched the surface and when we look at the three previous trends that the trend toward or engaging digital consumer-oriented digital experience the trend toward mobility as a service and the trend toward autonomous and you connect that with the connected car this all four of these come together in a way that really open up entirely new possibilities for how customers are going to engage with vehicles so the question the natural question that comes from this out of these four trends is there one underlying theme that ties everything together and I think the answer to that is absolutely yes and that consistent theme is the growing need for or the growing importance of customer experience of course value proposition elements such as aesthetics performance reliability and cost the traditional tools that that we’ve always looked to an automotive are critically important those are not going to go away as factors of importance but I think what will become the differentiator for tomorrow is the in vehicle experience and not just the in vehicle experience but every aspect of experience from the very moment someone considers a transportation need toward the the delivery and post delivery process and that’s true whether you’re delivering a vehicle that someone is going to buy for their own use or whether you’re selling a 30 minute ride across town everything becomes about delivering the best experience and I believe that’s going to be the basis for competition that’s going to change the dynamics of the industry in the future so the question that that this leads to is what tools are we using to design and deliver these experiences and the answer is pencils so and I’m this is a bit tongue-in-cheek and I know that this you know some of you may might disagree with me after all the last time a car was designed with pencils and primarily modeled in clay was 30 35 years ago something like that so it’s been a while but the truth of the matter is that even now as we’ve adopted modern PLM tools and you know as we’ve gone from capturing electronic drawings to 3d modeling to sophisticated simulation we were still focusing on kind of capturing validating and communicating the product definition so the center of that entire process is all about the product it’s not centered necessarily on the customer and what that customers experience is and so our tools are 3d but we’re still in many ways focused on aesthetics performance reliability and cost and I will again those are absolutely critical they’re going to continue to be critical they’ll be table stakes for competition but it’s not enough so the the key is how do we make customer experience an integral part of the design process because if customer experience is going to be the basis for competitive advantage in the future customer experience needs to be considered at every stage of the design process whether you’re talking about the design studio where you’re considering the the ergonomics of the vehicle or how people interact with the vehicle in the future when you know the the model that I showed before for people facing each other or whether it’s how custom how service technicians engage with engage of the vehicle or how someone is what kind of experience they have after they’ve had a ride in a vehicle all of these things are are critical elements and we need to put customer experience at the center of the design process and not just designing the products but designing the services that go along with this it’s really a beginning to end process so given that challenge what can we do differently how can you connect every phase of your life cycle from concept to delivery around this idea of customer experience and I’m guessing right now that about 90% of you are thinking he’s gonna say unity is the answer to that and you’d be right and I’m my only question is for the other 10% what on earth were you thinking but it’s you know that was kind of a predictable answer from my point but the serious question is how unity can be used to deliver this and so that’s what I really want to switch to at this point is to go from the importance of these trends which I think are undeniable the importance of customer experience is a differentiator and to transform that into how can unity help because how can we as a platform help address these needs so the answer is we have focused on five key high-level areas to provide you the tools you need to provide this connected customer experience these five aren’t set in stone there they will likely change over time but we put these down about a year ago and since then they have proven to be remarkably resilient I mean this is we’ve we’ve validated these talking with many of the people in this room and I’m pretty convinced they’re they’re largely right and then just as important is what we’re focusing on is how we’re doing it and this is one of the areas that I want to make very clear you can only deal with so much disruption at one at one time you’ve got your tools that you’ve chosen for design for simulation for visualization for all sorts of things our objective at unity is not to disrupt and displace and and you know replace all of the tools that you’re using today our objective is to connect to those tools so we want to make this a convenient process and importantly I want to emphasize the fact that we’re providing a platform to build upon so it’s not you know our job is not to be just a turnkey application you buy it it does this job it doesn’t only this job and then you go on and you use the tool just for this our objective is to be a platform that you and your partners and and really the entire ecosystem of more than a million monthly active unity developers can build these solutions on so this this idea of unity as a development tool as a development platform is critically important and that’s really how we’re focused on us and you working together to deliver on these five opportunities so and again the one of the themes that you’re going to see throughout the rest of this presentation is our roadmap strategy is all about making it easier to connect the tools you have today to unity so that you can take the design they’re working on and immediately bring that customer experience to life so you can put the customer experience at the center of your design process so at the end of the day Tim yesterday talked about the importance of unity with enabling success democratizing development solving hard problems and we want to help you solve these hard problems so what are these five areas the first one is design experience and design experience is providing you the ability to experience a design in real time throughout the design process if it takes you a day to prepare models to bring them into real time we failed if it takes you 30 seconds to bring a design into a real time experience we’re doing a pretty good job if you can immediately experience a design in real time then that’s you know then that’s where we’ve achieved success at the end of the day I don’t know that we’re gonna get to the magical 500 millisecond level but we want to make this as fast as possible and you you really want to be able to experience your designs intuitively and understand put yourself in your customers shoes or your customers seat if you will and understand from an engineering perspective from a design perspective from a customer perspective how a particular persona would use the product whether that person is is you know in an urban environment whether they’re in a rural environment whether they’re using a vehicle for utility purposes or whether they’re you know they’re going to you know going out with friends to our restaurant you want to be able to understand that entire customer experience from a design perspective the second element is sales and marketing and this is about delivering a compelling customer experience throughout all stages of the marketing and sales process whether you’re selling the car or whether you’re selling a ride in a car and it’s more than just a car configurator though it’s about delivering a persistent omni-channel way for your customer to interact with the product and service I think this is interest interesting yesterday when you saw the digital omote annachi presentation from team one and tilt-shift where they talked about this omni-channel creation of marketing content and so if I’m a customer I want to do more than just bring up a car on a web browser and maybe change the colors and change the change the wheels I want to have an AR configurator and I want to be able to play with the HMI system and experience the car as if it was a real car it’s about it’s about providing this richer customer experience so from a sales and marketing perspective I think there are tremendous opportunities to really change the customer experience and engage the customer from the very earliest parts of the process training and guidance training and guidance really addresses almost everybody that touches a car it’s providing a way to educate support and where appropriate certify individuals in several different areas whether it’s the people who are building cars and the in factories or it’s the technicians who service them or the owners or renters who use them because how many people have had the problem of you know renting a car getting in an unfamiliar car and trying to figure out how do I turn on the headlights so this is you know providing tools that kind of bring this intuitive customer experience to life I think is another opportunity and then think about the opportunity for location-aware and context-sensitive content and how you can deliver that to employees to service technicians to customers that can really transform the customer experience as well HMI so these first three and I’ll step back for a second the first three areas of design experience sales and marketing and training and guidance are the areas where I think there’s a absolutely solid use of unity today these next two HMI and simulation and visualization just tip my hand are the ones that are I would all emerging cases for unity and I think for HMI in a lot of ways it’s a natural fit many of you in this room today many customers especially here in Europe are using HM using unity to research to do development work for HMI but when it comes to production you need to restart the process and you have there’s a disconnected tool chain that you know oftentimes is you know you’re able to do amazing things when prototyping HMI and unity but when it comes time to implement that HMI you find yourself in a far more constrained environment so what we want to do is to make this process simpler because after all if you’re delivering HMI experiences that incorporate capabilities such as augmented reality how are you going to do that with the tools you have today you can do it prototyping with unity but when it comes to implementing that in production that just takes that whole disconnected tool chain and makes it a much more uncomfortable experience so we want to provide you with tools to be able to not only develop the HMI upfront but to bring that HMI into production fortunately trends in HMI hardware and software architecture as well as what we’re doing with unity with our new entity component-based architecture and our ability to deliver lightweight runtimes is really for the first time providing the promise the potential to provide a connected tool chain from the earliest parts of the development to the end of the development after all why shouldn’t your customer be able to skin her HMI with a theme for the weekend or if she opts in why shouldn’t she be able to find out that the Starbucks in the corner is running on Monday morning after that weekend running specials on double espressos so that you know you now how can you dynamically update the the HMI in a way that you just simply can’t do today finally this last area is one that’s in some ways not like the others simulation and visualization has the potential to address multiple use cases where we’re initially focused on simulation and visualization is using unity to provide realistic virtual worlds that are used for training and validation of autonomous vehicles several customers are doing this work today with unity of course this means providing improved support for multiple sensor types such as radar and lidar it provides tools to create scenarios josée dalla vera is going to be speaking later today and is going to talk more about unities plans for simulation and visualization but you know I won’t I won’t steal any of his thunder other than to say there’s a lot of opportunity here but there are other uses for simulation and visualization as well the same virtual worlds that are needed for creating you know multiple scenarios for testing or for developing autonomous vehicles can be used to simulate customer experiences or design purposes whether it’s a leisurely country road or whether it’s a hectic urban environment they can be used to create sales and marketing content so that you can actually provide a very customized personalized environment to someone in the context of sales marketing so there’s potential to take these tools to build these virtual worlds and to provide those virtual worlds as part of the customer experience so at the end of the day it’s really all connected so I’m gonna pivot now and I’ve talked about the trends the importance of customer experiences the differentiator for the future I’ve talked about the five main high-level areas that we’re focusing on for unity and now I’m going to talk about how we’re going to deliver this for you and so how you know how can we make unity a better tool that helps you do this that’s better and the answer is what I’m calling unity for industry this is not an official name don’t write it down or anything but it clarifies our intent for what we want to deliver to you and our focus with unity for industry is providing more value to you and most of what I’m going to be talking about here will be available by the end of 2018 some things will be available earlier as we’ve developed these improvements we’ve really stayed focused on the five high-level areas I just covered we want to provide you with the best real-time platform for development no matter whether you’re creating VR experiences for ergonomics review car configurators for sales and marketing or AR based training applications for service technicians we’re focused on improving unity to make it easier to develop these types of solutions and connect to the tools that you have today so first off product offerings and this is a somewhat schematic chart here but at the you know everything is still based upon unity and of course we’ve got unity Pro that many of you use today and that continues to be available for industry and in many cases that’s that’s all you need but what we found in talking with you is you’ve got needs that go beyond that so our unity for industry solution combines the power of unity Pro together with Pixies The Pixies plug-in and pixie studio that provides you with what in my opinion is the world’s best CAD import and data preparation tools to bring data into real-time 3d and I think it’s important us for a second to talk about it’s not just CAD import it’s CAD important data preparation because you have to not only bring the data in you have to optimize it for the experience and that optimization is going to be very different if you’re developing a VR based configurator for you know a high-end sales and marketing application in a dealership versus you’re developing something an AR based application for a phone because there’s radically different processing capabilities for those two different devices and of course the pipeline and the optimization that you need to meet those is different the other thing is you see this green box with a check check box in it you’ll see this icon a few times in here and that’s what we’re terming solution templates and given unities Danish heritage being founded in Copenhagen I’ll refer to this as the Lego bricks for building solutions so as we we at unity are focused on providing a platform but what we’ve learned is that in some cases that platform isn’t enough and you need higher-level building blocks to be able to build applications more easily more conveniently we want to at the end of the day help you be more productive and so unity for industry includes unity these solution templates and the pixies plugin in pics the pixie studio to provide you a convenient kit if you will to get started and get productive with unity and then on top here I’ve got another Pixies logo because we are also together with Pixies offering you tools such as the Pixies Connect product which is a web server based solution that as you’re going to see in the following presentation here from Pixies provides some really advanced capabilities for for kind of automating the entire process of CAD import and data preparation so I’m confident that that what you’re going to see from Pixies and what you’re going to see from us and the solution templates together with unity for industry is really going to take everything that you’re trying to do with unity today and accelerate it to help you be more productive so I’m going to dive a little bit deeper and I’m gonna give you three core categories of product improvements that we’re making so the first is improvements that are shared by all customers in core unity so those of you who were here yesterday and saw a risk this presentation on next-level rendering the the tools that are being put in place for next-level rendering for HDR P in the overall scriptable render pipeline the C sharp job system that provides multi-threaded capabilities all of these are core improvements that are being shared by all customers some of these are being driven or informed by what we’re doing in automotive but at the end of the day there are things that all Unity customers need the second thing are what I’m calling features and those are industry specific features that really target specific needs for industry customers and are exclusive to unity for industry probably the best example of that is the pixies plug-in in pixie studio because if you’re in the automotive business you’ve got a need to bring in JT data CATIA data alias data and X data what have you if you’re designing games you may not have the same need so these are these are things that it’s we’re not including this in core unity because frankly it’s not valuable for all customers but it’s extremely valuable for you and those features are things that were providing immunity for industry and then finally your extras so this this is content and assets that are provided as entitlements to unity for industry to help provide your productivity boost so I just wanted to clarify those those three categories and as you’ll see now as you go through the rest of the presentation hopefully unless I miss something you’ll see any each slide that I’m being very clear as to whether something is core a feature or an extra just to clarify and how these are delivered excuse me so the first feature that I’m going to talk about is Kat adjuster many of you have already used or tried the powerful CAD import and data preparation tools from pixies if you haven’t I certainly encourage you to do so anybody from pixies or anybody from unity can can get you a trial so that you can try it out I really encourage you to try these tools and what you’re going to see from pixies and you’re going to learn more from from axel and jeffrey in the next presentation is the ability to provide even more automation you’re going to see from the unity side more integration between pixies and unity to provide faster import more complete import of data so that essentially you’re able to bring in data with more integrity more metadata and you know more closely replicate exactly what’s in your CAD system and bring that into unity and you’ll just see a more seamless workflow experience overall between unity and pixies throughout the rest of this year something that I actually want to point out here and take a minute that isn’t really widely understood either is the ability for Pixies to support runtime CAD import and I’ve talked with a lot of customers who have the need to to bring data directly into a unity runtime you know immediately quickly and again getting back to that I don’t want to take a day to prepare something I want to be able to bring something in in 30 seconds and at the end of the day your CAD data is changing constantly and you don’t want to go back to whoever is doing your development work whether that’s you or somebody else in your team and say hey I need to bring in this latest version of the model can you rebuild the project for me to this target and so forth that’s not how it should work instead you want to be able to have a pre-built application bring the CAD data in to that application and just to be able to bring it in in the runtime and with a Windows runtime today using the pixies plugin you can do exactly that it’s supported today one of the other exciting things is the pixies team has demonstrated this down in the show floor and I would encourage you to go see this is that using Pixies connect you can now build asset bundles to provide essentially the same capability for any runtime so if you’re running an iPhone and you want to bring in the latest CAD data to an iPhone from you know with your underlying model changed you can do that with Pixies connect you can pull the data out of the CAD system build the asset bundles and stream those out to your runtime so you can now have runtime CAD import on any device one of the other interesting things is also the ability for Pixies with their web service Pixies connect to actually together with unity directly build unity runtimes straight from the CAD data so there’s I think there’s tremendous opportunity and really just some amazing levels of integration that were able to provide here so one of the core capabilities you’re going to see is improvements in rendering and materials so in addition to the HD render pipeline which erisa presented yesterday which is already in preview this year we’re going to add a set of more than 140 automotive materials to provide better out-of-the-box visuals and again this is really just for your convenience and I’m not saying that we’re going to cover every possible material because at the end of the day you’re gonna have highly specific needs for what you need for your materials but also if you want to just drag and drop a material and you want to have it there you want something that looks good so for us this is something that we think is is going to be really beneficial to you we’re gonna make this available to all customers in the asset store but I also don’t want to restrict what we’re doing with materials to just what we’re providing we’re providing the starter set of materials algorithmic as you know has recently announced the availability of a complete set of automotive materials through substance source so more than 500 PBR tweakable materials 1,500 material presets 8k texture resolution really amazing materials and so those materials will also be available to you through algorithmic as a partner of ours one of the other things that we’re doing is providing a preview of the new stack light shader to provide the ultimate in visual quality the stack light shader builds upon the default lit shader which is the default shader for HDR P and adds support for more accurate rendering so it has a coat material so you can provide clear coat dual specular ‘s and not not in this version but in a version coming soon glint what you’re seeing this morning is the first rendering we’ve done with the stack lit shader in this case obviously using a Volkswagen Touareg the stack light shader is compatible with HDR P and promises to provide new levels of realism for materials such as car paint but it has other applications beyond car paint human skin anything that has this the sense of depth is going to be really is going to benefit from the use of the stack light shader so I think you’ll agree that with HDR P and the new stack let shader we’re really taking unity to new levels of photo realism in real time I could watch this video all day honestly so I’m just gonna be quiet because I think it speaks for itself [Music] [Music] [Music] so I’d also like to recognize and thank Volkswagen Oliver Schnabel who is solutions engineer with unity and our friends at finds and for contributing to the creation of of this vehicle I think it’s absolutely beautiful so here’s another quart thing that we’re doing that we’re providing is a core capability licensing and deployment improvements so I don’t know how many customers I’ve talked to and the the probably the single biggest request that I’ve had from all of you is I need a solution that works on a closed network I want floating licenses I need more control over over the licensing process and so we’re introducing a floating an offline licensing and enterprise deployment tools initially this is going to be available to industrial enterprise customers later this year but we plan to ultimately expand the availability of this offering and provide a richer set of tools to to to manage your licenses internally to integrate with your current licensing frameworks and deployment or your analytics tools that you’re using for for monitoring license usage and everything else and this is all being done through the unity hub so the unity hub is going to really support it’s going to provide much greater convenience it’s going to provide much greater power and it’ll help support things like enterprise licensing of assets from the asset store managing of packages entitlements being access to multiple versions of unity and providing control over what versions of unity are available to everyone in your organization it’s essentially maturing and taking unity to a level that it works with Enterprise IT needs so I think this is going to be fantastic and I think the ability to effectively use unity more effectively use unity because you can effectively use it today but more effectively using unity in a closed network environment there’s going to be a fantastic improvement one of the other things is in addition the improvements for floating and offline licenses we also now have a model to support streaming of unity to end-users and this is particularly for marketing applications but it’s you know it can be used in a number of different ways so we have a business model that supports this I think that that that actually the ability to stream content from unity is extremely convenient opens up a new set of opportunities for you so another feature something for unity for industry is materials import so we’re going to make available this year a few different things so we’ve already developed a shader to support axf and we’re we have actually we’re testing the axf importer right now so that we are going to make available to you before the end of the year direct support of axf materials so that a very powerful measured materials workflow from X right will support that and I think it’s something that just it’s it’s a natural need for you but not all of you need something like ax s so we’ve developed a photometer e based material scanning process it’s just quick and easy if you’ve got a material you want to be able to capture it and bring it into unity we’ve developed a very kind of a kind of a very simple to use photometry based process and we’re working on productizing that so that you’ve got something that makes a quick and easy import of materials into unity essentially using a camera and a polarizing filter in a flash and we’re also working to help convert existing material libraries that you have into bring those into unity to support into our new HD RP shaders so I think that this is something the ability to get access to the materials that you need for your own custom material libraries is something that’s really going to also open up new opportunities for unity I talked before about templates these are extras that are be available in unity for industry and we’re these solution templates our building blocks to help address specific needs that you have and so we’re focused on five different areas for solution templates the first is immersive design being able to more easily and quickly with less c-sharp scripting with less development less coding to be able to create immersive design experiences and unity and you know what you’re using the immersive design experience templates for is ultimately up these are building blocks that you can use to build upon just like you would build solutions in unity today but we want to help you get from point A to point B faster the second is sales configuration the third is HMI prototyping so being able to use unity to create HMI prototypes I’ve heard from many of you that you love using unity for that you have to create so much content from scratch you can’t we just start from a higher level and then the the last two are focused on simulation and visualization so four scenarios and centers now I’ll let josée talk more about those all right so those are the things that we’re putting into unit unity for industry and like I said in most cases these will be available by the end of this year but where’s the broader vision for unity what you know what did we do beyond that because you know if all we talk about is we’re gonna do this for unity by the end of year that’s great but it isn’t as inspiring as it could be so a few different things so with the pixies team one of the things we’re going to do is to really support the import of richer content so environments behaviors lighting everything that you that you need to bring to not only bring a static model into unity but to bring a dynamic model in the Union to bring a scene in the unity we’re working closely with the pixies team to enable these things so we’re gonna continue to help streamline the entire process of taking your data definition that you’ve authored in other tools and bringing that into unity to create real-time experiences with simulation and visualization we’re going to expand our work with a number of partners to provide a richer ecosystem of solutions for you to build on so one touch partner is to Vidia so an example here you can see this is a simulation done in unity using 64 beam lidar and the same simulation visualized in RGB and that’s just one example we’re working with a number of customers and and partners josée is going to talk about some of those in more detail in his presentation but providing these tools for really advanced simulation and visualization in unity and we also want to improve the ability for you to gaile your simulations to encompass larger geographic scale and more scenarios and more variation for HMI we’re gonna provide new capabilities to deploy highly performant and lightweight content so you can maintain the ability to deliver dynamic updates to HMI and create rich user interfaces this is an example of a user interface created in unity which is the active multi level display which provides this incredible sense of 3d depth and you know this these are the kinds of things that are really going to start to engage and change the nature of the user experience and then finally analytics unity has an incredibly robust analytics framework today and we have a lot of infrastructure not only do we provide things like daily active users and session numbers and session lengths which are important in gaming but frankly they’re important in automotive as well we can add custom event so the developers can contract and collect useful insights a highly granular level and so now if you think about things like you can do a/b testing you can provide remote settings you can update you can update experiences in real time effectively if you’re connected to the Internet if the customer is connected to the Internet and analytics provides valuable insights whether that’s better understanding how customers are interacting with car configurators online and not just which option did they select but where did they focus on the car where did they put their mouse where did they put their finger and HMI understanding from a design perspective how our customers interacting with an HMI in real cars in the real world and those analytics can be used not only for for a number of valuable purposes that I think your your imaginations the limit on the potential for that but they can also be used as feedback to help close the loop on the design process so this opportunity to collect information for customers to deliver better experiences for customers I think it’s really exciting so this is something that I think is a uniquely powerful capability of unity so I have used up 43 of my 45 allotted minutes so I hope apologize I only left a couple of minutes for QA but I hope that you agree that that what we’re doing here is going to help you do more with unity it’s going to provide a stronger better platform for you to build upon and I’d like to take a couple of minutes before the break here and just open up for any questions you might have of me so anyone have any questions on this is a great opportunity to ask them somebody always has to go first because I know there’s there probably a number of you who want to ask the question you don’t want to be the first anybody yes okay great Oh shame on me for using acronyms without explaining them that’s really bad hm a human machine interface so touchscreen in your car you know any it’s it’s your interaction with the vert the virtual elements of a car uh who else has questions yes oh yeah okay so the yeah absolutely so the question was what’s the nature of our strategic partnership with Pixies and what are the plans for that and do we plan to integrate even more so yes we are working closely with Pixies to do a number of different things and so one of those is to just make the whole process faster so to be able to bring in larger models and to be able to bring them in faster and to bring them in with more complete information than today I think Pixies and unity already today are amazing I mean it’s it’s the customers I’ve talked to it’s it goes anywhere from while this is great it’s just what I needed to over the moon comments where people are just thrilled with it and so but what we want to make that process better and provide tighter integration both on the pixie side on the unity side so that you just have a more seamless workflow and faster port and the ability to import
