Top 3 Jeep JK Armor Products from EVO Manufacturing

Oh my God, a 76 year old woman was pecked to death by her chickens while she was getting eggs. OH no! I heard that yesterday.
That’s terrible! Who knew from the beginning of her life she would be taken down by a rooster. That’s a pretty deep way of looking at it bro.
DEATH BY CHICKEN! Yea, death by chicken. Her whole life lead up to a chicken coop.
What we have here is a later model JK Wrangler a customer brought in.
Already had a lot of stuff built into it like this cage
Some bolt-on coil overs from EVO Manufacturing. It has a Terra-Flex long-arm kit, I believe.
So he wanted to do some spring rate changes on the coil-overs and
Also have us install some EVO rocksliders as well as these
EVO corner guards and heavy-duty tire carrier. We’ve already done the test fit and
done all the extra work on it. Cut the tail lights.
Now the guys go all the raw stuff back from powder coat this morning and you guys are installing the rockskins.
Later on today we will install the rocksliders.
yea.
These are the EVO manufacturing
corner guards
for the Jeep JK Wrangler. They have to be used if you’re going to mount their heavy duty tire carrier.
Which we will also be doing on this Jeep.
We didn’t test fit mounted them and all that. They’ve been powder coated now. We’re doing the final installation.
We’ll also be adding these
nice Off-Road Only LED taillights, which have the reverse light built into them and
turn signals on the side too. We’re just getting big clamp put it up on there and can squeeze into place and put the final
screw right here
and go ahead and have the other
Now that Blake has done final assembly on the corner armor he’s also installed the brackets to the heavy tire carrier
This is a must for those of you running 40″ tires on your JK
You are going to want a tire carrier that will be able to handle that much weight on the trail.
So we’re adding a Off-Road Only tail light…
…license plate light. It’s pretty nice. It’s not a very expensive part of
This right here is the brake light
There has another one in here for the license plate light
These are like $45 and in Texas third brake lights are mandatory on Jeeps.
Because they came with them from the factory so.
You definitely have to have not just a license plate light, but being a license plate …and a brake light on the back
And this one from Off-Road only has that plus it comes with a detachable harness here
so if you had to remove it for somewhere you can.
We’ll be installing that on this customer a rig also
I’m putting these pins in from tractor supply instead of the ones that come with it
because they have these nice handles on top, making it easier to pull.
Also, they have these widget instead of the others so they snap in place and don’t fall out.
Plus has a nice red accent
Looks good against a black Jeep.
Alright, Blake is installing some King bump stops
It’s pretty simple install in front with JK when you using the king bump stops, but just to go over it real quick
Here’s the stock piece. It was originally right here. Just tape it off cut it.
Take that and throw it away. Now, you’re gonna take the
King bump stops, stick it up in there pull right there. Then you run your ring down on top.
Now, you can set the bump stop height. We usually do this with a 3″ bump stop on the axle side and then we adjust the
Air bump or hydraulic bump stop up here. To do that
you’re just gonna run the ring down you go up higher you’d be more traveled up travel
And then on top, they’ll have a ring just like this and you run it down.
Tighten them up jamb them up in place. That’s gonna set your bump stop.
These are a lot better more comfortable than the regular rubber bump stops and come on there a little bit pricier, but
definitely you get what you pay for.
When installing rear corner armor such as this EVO Manufacturing sto-corner armor… “rotary girder”
You have a couple of choices. You can get them that
go around that OEM tail light or in this case would replace the tail light with some sort of LED tail light. This customer chose
the Off-Road Only
liteDot tail light system instead of a flush mount
pushing type LED light.
What’s nice about these is they have the reverse lights built into them and they also have side marker lights
so you can see it from the side. They run about $200 for the pair and then
$45 for the brackets that allow you to mount them inside here nice and clean and they’re pretty easy to install
One of the things our customer is having us install on his Jeep are these weld-on rocksliders from EVO manufacturing.
One of the things you want to be real certain about when you’re doing this is not to paint
Pads here
Where you are going to weld them to the frame. We very explicitly explained this to our powder coat man. Do not powder coat!
Now, whatever you do. Don’t push this button you
He did it anyway, so now we’re gonna have to
take a sanding disc to get all the powder coat off
We’re gonna do a lot more prep work on these sliders before we do the install
Otherwise, we’re gonna have a hard time getting these welded to the frame
Probably end up with some porosity. Be careful about that when you are prepping these.
Right now we are marking the frame
on this customers JK so that we can
grind all the paint off of the frame where these are going to weld-on
So that when we weld it we don’t have any
problems
So as soon as he’s done grinding all that off, we’ll come back up and tack them into place and Blake and finish welding them on.
Stay tuned….
