TCC Automotive Technology Program, Student Anna Waters

ANNA WATERS: I LIKE
WORKING WITH MY HANDS.
TURNING WRENCHES, JUST
BEING ABLE TO GET DIRTY.
I COME IN FOR WORK,
RIGHT NOW I AM A
QUICK LUBE TECHNICIAN,
CHANGING OIL, TIRE ROTATE,
MOUNT AND BALANCE TIRES.
INSTRUCTOR: YOU CAN
FEEL THE AIR COMING OUT,
OR YOU CAN ACTUALLY JUST
LOOK AT YOUR CAM SHAFT.
ANNA WATERS: THE CLASSES AT
TIDEWATER ARE VERY EDUCATIONAL,
THERE’S A LOT
OF HANDS ON WORK.
THE INSTRUCTORS AT TCC,
THEY HELP YOU WITH ANY
PROBLEM THAT YOU HAVE.
INSTRUCTOR: ONCE
YOU’VE PULLED IT OUT,
YOU TAKE A
MICROMETER AND CHECK IT.
ANNA WATERS: THE
AUTOMOTIVE PROGRAM IS A
VARIETY OF EVERYTHING.
I CHOSE AUTOMOTIVE TO
BROADEN MY EDUCATION ON
EVERY VEHICLE, MOSTLY LIKE
WORKING ON FORDS BECAUSE
THEY’RE A LOT EASIER, BUT
WITH ALL THE TECHNOLOGY,
EVERYTHING’S COMPUTERIZED,
YOU CAN PINPOINT
WHERE EVERYTHING IS.
I WOULD RECOMMEND
GOING TO R.A.C.,
THEY KNOW HOW TO TEACH YOU.
[ENGINE STARTS]
FIXING A CAR, ONCE YOU
FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM,
IT FEELS AMAZING.
