Piaget Craftsmanship – Watch manufacturing | Piaget 2013

It is in the engineering and development workshops that Piaget engineers create all the external components for our watches, engaging in a constant process of dialogue with their watchmaker and designer colleagues. Backed by state-of-the-art computer software specifically developed for the Manufacture, these specialists rely on a multitude of simulations (in terms of friction, wear and tear, material strengths), in order to ensure the long-term reliability of our watches. The fact that our team includes the full range of specialisations involved in every stage of watchmaking is a major asset for Piaget, facilitating communication and interaction between the different trades and expertise in the production process in conditions of maximum reactivity. Some of the production is carried out using digital technologies, other aspects are vested in the capable hands of master craftsmen. A Piaget case is intended to reflect the perfection of the movement it houses. Its production follows sixty operations for the decorations and finishes, which treat even the smallest detail and component. From the first concept to the final finishes, Piaget timepieces are entirely produced in-house. Piaget improves its watchmaking equipment with time, while conserving the ancestral craft and its own well-kept trade secrets.
