my name is Stephen mejia I’m Stephenson ingret I’m Michael lips with my name is matthew anderson I’m my prevention I’m taking the automotive t-ten program I’m in the Toyota for Chrysler apprenticeship the GM ASAP automotive program with BMW program I pick mass baby because actually I applied for a job at a dealership and they actually advised me to come here basically nowadays you almost needed agree to do anything that’s why I chose this because it was one of my only ones that offer a soc agree program for automotive technology so you get a degree in science then you also get certified through whatever manufacturer that you’re here for well if you don’t have any experience with cars that’s not an issue it gives you the opportunity to just take it apart not worry about if you break it a peg hands-on instruction of how to work on them the proper procedures you know they show us their little tricks that ins and outs two things you understand how you have to perform in a dealership and most of their procedures so you’re ready and you know what to expect all the facilities here they’re very nice when I took the tool here the one of the things that caught my eye this shop we’re in right now is very clean everything is well kept brand new cars to work on it’s just it’s a real professional environment I feel that goes just at a regular shop the equipment they use here the same that you’re gonna use at work so then when you get to work you already know how to use it truly the courses are only a year and a half because the second half of your second year you only have to have a co-op at a dealership which means you have to have full-time employment it provides us with a hands-on experience of working in the field with real people under guidance usually and basically teaches us and trains us how to do it all out there they worked with me they give me hours around my class schedule they let me work on the weekends on if they’re very accommodating to you having to be in school that you do get paid for that for the time that you work for the dealership and then the teachers call them and look over you to see how you do it if you come in on time to talk to your service manager managers supervisors to see how you doing and that’s how you get graded mean massive a to it reasonably priced it was a community college it was not way out there I didn’t think I could afford it because maybe I was like I couldn’t maybe I could not qualify for financial aid or like loans or anything like that but I came here and they told me that you can apply for a loan they are always giving out scholarships for this school and everybody is encouraged to apply and most of everybody gets transfer credits is always accepted i know a couple kids my class who have transferred from other schools and haven’t had to take certain classes because have already done that really the industry i think is going nothing but up it’s a very challenging course even though it’s spread over two years there’s a lot involved is you’re packing a ton of information and your understanding it in a short amount of time it’s not really just a coup greasemonkey CEO like a technician for me it’s not that you know it’s just it’s a love it’s a passion so it’s a real good fit cars aren’t going away anytime soon it’s our main mode of transportation and somebody needs to fix someone when things you know go bad are you are you are you up to the challenge
