How to STOP squeaky noise | Bushings | Sway Bar on Mercedes ML55 | W163

hello everyone welcome to easy steps
today I’m gonna be showing you how to
fix the cracking or creaking noise that
comes from your the sway bars or the
bushing bars of your ml class w163
right there it makes like a clicking
noise right there again I know it’s
right there does get very annoying so
I’m going to show you how to fix it in
easy steps clunking noise was coming
from the passenger rear side so what
I’ve done is I’ve removed the wheel and
next what I’m going to do is there’s a
couple bushings that that could be the
possible causes or even your ball joints
but my ball joints are all fine and
what I’ve seen is this bushing right
here I’m going to use a 1/2 socket and
I’m going to open it and what I’m going
to do is I’m going to put grease inside
it and I’m going to use I have here is
some white lithium grease and what
happens is that they dry out and then
there’s no lubrication so that starts
making clunking noises stop removing
both bolts the top metal I’m gonna take
it off and next since I can’t take out
the bar I’m going to just lift up the
rubber on one side and it should open up
like that and I’m gonna clean the inside
out with the cloth and then I’m gonna
spray some lithium grease just clean it
out and then I’m gonna I’m gonna spray
lithium grease I’m gonna spray
layer on it and I’m gonna close the
bushing and I’m gonna press it down and
the excess you could clean it off and
I’m gonna close this going to tighten
them
and secure them down and put your
wheel back on and that’s how you can fix
clunking noises that are coming from
your mercedes-benz ML class or any
Mercedes just check your bushings your
ball joints most the time it’s usually
bushings that dry out so you can just
put some white lithium grease and that
solves the issue thank you for watching

  1. good video – thanks for the info, but the cherry on top would have been a quick demonstration to show that what you did actually worked !

  2. hello is it the same on a w220 how do u take the front bushing I tried to flip it over it but can't lift it is it glued on ????

  3. hi .i have w211 and i have a squeaky noise coming from my front driver side ..all ball joints are new just not sure if my sway bar can make this noise since the the rubbers are supposedly attached to the bar or its my shock which seems ok .plz any help

  4. Not to be a dick but this is really bad advice lithium grease in those cans actually breaks down rubber instead of rejuvenating it you should probably remove this video because even though it has a bunch of views it's still inaccurate information a polymer based substance rejuvenates old rubber

  5. For rubber bushings? Silicone spray. Doesn't last forever but for couple months will be okay. And do not swallow rubber like lithium grease. Lithium grease is like moly grease, to use inbetween metal-metal and to minimize this contact.

  6. Once a year always spray down your bushings and Joints with liquid wrench for a smooth long-lasting ride!

  7. Please use a lubricant such as ProSlip PIN which doesn't interact with rubber to reduce sqeaking and aid fitting
