How to drive your BMW Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle efficiently – BMW How-to

Using your BMW Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle as efficiently as possible is quite easy. Make sure to charge your BMW as often as possible to exploit the full potential of the vehicle. Use the preconditioning function while charging to ensure your BMW’s interior is already at a comfortable temperature when you start your journey. Doing so, the high-voltage battery power can now be used for your electric range, instead of being used to heat or cool the interior during the journey. Please watch our other How-To videos about charging and preconditioning for further information. In Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles with Operating System 7, the most efficient way of driving is in HYBRID ECO PRO Mode. You can do so by pressing HYBRID twice. This drive mode also activates intelligent functions to support anticipatory driving. HYBRID ECO PRO supports smooth acceleration and deceleration and thus a calm and consumption-optimized driving style. The ‘Route ahead assistant’ indicates when to release the accelerator with a blue ‘foot symbol’ in the instrument cluster. This can be for speed limit reductions ahead or when approaching junctions, roundabouts or town entrances. The vehicle then makes efficient use of the Hybrid drive, for example by coasting or recuperation. While recuperating, electric energy is used to recharge the high-voltage battery. With adaptive recuperation, your BMW makes sure that the vehicle decelerates in the most efficient way, depending on the driving situation. 1. If only… got my brand new 2020 BMW 530e 3 weeks ago and connected drive won't work (android app), can't send anything to the car. Also it pings every day that the break fluid had to be changed December 2001, 18 years before the car was manufactured… BMW, great car, horrible software… No ETA when it will be fixed from the dealer
