Garmin zumo 590LM: Automotive Mount Overview with GPS City

in this video we’re going to take a look at the automotive mount for the Garmin Zumo 590 LM this mount comes in the box when you purchase the Zumo 590 LM and it has three components you have your automotive mount cradle you have your vehicle power cable and then you have this Garmin suction cup mounting base you have some power connectors over here on the cradle those are going to line up with the connectors on the back of the Zumo 590 you also have this release button here so the GPS will clip into this cradle you can press that button down to release it over on the side you have a microUSB port for your vehicle power cable and then on the reverse you have the Garmin jebal socket that’s going to accept the ball on the end of your suction cup and then you also have this speaker that is built into the cradle so what we can do now is get our suction cup down on a smooth non-porous surface and then press the lever down to lock it into place so we’ll get that down on the table here and now we can take the socket on the back of our cradle and push that down onto the suction cup now that is the same g ball socket that you’re gonna find on the back of other garmin gps units like the garmin nuvi series so you’re not only restricted to using this suction cup if you have another Garmin friction mount anything like that you can use that instead but now we can get our cable plugged into our automotive cradle get this down on the table here again now we’re ready to clip our GPS into the mount so here’s our zoom o 590 again we can get the bottom into the cradle first and then pull back on the top and you’ll both hear and feel it lock into place in the cradle just as I mentioned before you do have that release button there in the corner so just press that down when you are ready to remove your GPS from the mount so that is a quick look at the automotive mount for the Garmin Zumo 590 LM
