Garage Rehab S02E06 Quick Stop Auto Repair

Garage Rehab S02E06 Quick Stop Auto Repair

it’s a little warm in here I’m gonna reposition the air conditioning are you kidding me with this God did it for us about 20 years ago you know inexpensive really you can pay for that at all I’d be surprised to understand god I wish there was smellivision because this garage is built a brand boom and an empire here we go by flipping cars gas monkey did good and making cash now he’s launching a new venture I’ll put in the 200 grand but then I take over investing in struggling garages across the u.s. we got a deal man let’s make it happen tonight we definitely need to knock this one down Richard and his crew take on a small shop with big problems this is the worst shop we’ve never seen Christine an owner with bad habits you gotta cut that out in here man this is a place of business and unpaid bills so we have no power non-payment they put tabs on me you guys are as everything comes crashing down tempers flare pushy thank you and the team threatens to fall apart get the damn camera off me nobody gives where are you going home where’s Gary he’s done with it [Music] welcome back to Dallas guys oh we were gonna come up on horses no there’s no horses in this part of town I’m really happy to be here in my hometown of Dallas Texas I almost think we have to move here that means I’ll be able to call up all the people that have helped me over the years with gas monkey garage to help with this shop so who were here to see a guy named Robert Knapp he was referred to me by my buddy Steve Mabry you know him from rusty Buffalo II he does all my custom furniture and interior design work he’s great he sent me some tape on this guy because they go back I think they go back to high school rubber naps owned a repair shop right here on Northwest Highway for the past 15 years but the shop itself has been here for something like 30 so what’s the issue he hasn’t kept up with the times he’s kind of a mom-and-pop shop if he will he does general maintenance and what-have-you but he’s hit on some hard times now what I really like about this shop is that he’s in a great location this thoroughfare here in Northwest Highway probably say 60 70 thousand cars a day go down this road he got Highland Park right around the corner the richest neighborhood arguably in Dallas and then he got University Park right next to hit you know homes are 20 million it’s 15 million the median household income in these two cities is around 200 K so this shop has great potential to bring in a lot of family business oh you know what right across the street is Keller’s hamburgers Keller’s hamburgers is a Dallas institution it’s been on the strip for 50 years and it gets packed with hot rods two to three nights a week there’s built-in business right there quick stop brakes and muffler and auto repair and servicing all of your stuff Oh Mike what is the the logo under the quick stop yeah we definitely need to knock this one down come on guys look at the area he’s surrounded on all four sides by big box auto retailers if these big box retailers are doing their demographic studies and everything else so they’re in an area they want to be it is a good area right off the bat I love this place it’s in a perfect location and I’m already seeing dollar signs look at that sign it looks like I’m pulling into grab a soda and a pack of smokes quit complaining let’s go see what it looks like on the inside what’s going on sir much how you doing Richard Rawlings you must be Robert Matt yes sir my name’s Robert Knapp owner quick stop I came work here got over 30 years ago for Sam Davis the guy that started click stop he sold it and then I bought it it’s a little warm in here I’m gonna reposition the air conditioning are you kidding me with this guy did it for us about 20 years ago yeah inexpensive really you paid for that at all I’d be surprised I understand this guy’s had an AC vent floating in eye-level for like 20 years he seems like a guy who spends the minimum amount of money necessary to keep this place going so the floor is nice there used to be tile he used to beat out asbestos based we scraped it off and sealed it off god I wish there was smellivision because this soap and that’s the customer bath but it’s a quick stop so they don’t ever need to use it someday we don’t have a lot of just hanging around people so what’s the rest of it look like the shops right here oh my god hmm so going out in the garage this place is like a shop that has relics of automobile repair been here a while it has been here while Adnan this these things belong in a museum does that lift work his leave works it does impossible how long does that live in here elissa been here since 1979 the newest piece of equipment it doesn’t work that alignment machine and that’s probably not too native how long has that not been working two three years getting the front end rack went down the pump and went on that I just can’t find one you just do what you got to do to survive and try to keep the doors open that’s what we’re done who’d you talk to who’s Gary he’s right here oh and you’re Gary Gary Richard Rawlings how you doing my name is Gary Zachary I’m gonna take here a quick stop you work on the new stuff just easy the old stuff yes all right good deal as far as tools and smaller equipment we’ve got it but as far as the big equipment plays oh all right so talk to me about this lift over here I don’t think they’re making they were from 1979 wow this place stopped in 1979 if frozen is a time capsule of what was great in 1979 and it’s obsolete now every year and every month you should be investing in your own business because if you don’t you’re just losing money right so I guess they’re collecting money but they’re not putting anything back in they’re not investing in themselves what’s your name sir solo Richard rocks how you doing oh you don’t my name is solo more again and I’m gonna take her solo why did I call you that because whatever I do imma do by myself all right what is uh what is that is that an apartment is that stay here work late sometimes all right active couch and a bed I shoved it up here so if I’m staying here 10:30 or so a crash up there that’s not code so when I walk into a shop and I see an apartment on top of an office that’s in a shop that has running vehicles chemicals that just seems like a bad idea all right let’s take a look outside okay you got a real nice big drive up area yeah one’s last time this was painted 1979 79 79 was a good year for this place I might have been 17 I don’t know I’m guessing because the paint’s all peeling cuz a bad prepping because of the heat of the building because it’s got to get pretty hot here well first impressions I mean you know this is a major thoroughfare with probably seventy five thousand cars a day and they’re running back and forth with their kids and I don’t think mom and her kids are gonna roll up here without getting a little worried about the look of the place there’s so many families around here they need to be the core business the bad news about this place is that it’s a dump probably the filthiest and most outdated shop I’ve ever seen but the good news is that the place is so small it won’t take that much of an investment to make it the type of place a family with kids would be comfortable pulling into that’s nothing we can’t fix that’s paint and spit and polish that’s easy Robert lets me and you go talk about the business part of things let’s wrestle you guys know what to do knock it down right no check it out but the more challenging part would be we got to fix the mindset and that’s exactly what I’ve got to attack with Robert in the offices where the a/c is all right mr. Robert tell me about the business itself I mean what’s your best year ever probably 320 that’s probably ten years ago 320,000 yeah it’s it will be doing now about 240 that’s only 20,000 a month that seems awful low how are you making the bills are 240 a year barely there’s some leftover in a month I got a little something for me if not we’d go on to the next month what’s rent to grant now that’s freaking cool I guess it’s cuz you’ve been here so long yeah I mean that’s a good deal for a building and lot this size on this major thoroughfare so as far as fleet accounts have you got what is that what are you spitting on a trash can you got cut that out in here man this is a place of business this guy does not need to be spitting tobacco on his floor and waiting on customers to walk in no not a good image not a good image at all I think if the average family came in here they’d take a look around and bolt back out the way they came hate to say it but I think the biggest problem here is you I’m not sure you’re willing to do the kind of heavy lifting its gonna take to turn this place around I mean I could throw the bazillion dollars at this place it comes down to you I agree and I mean I’ve kept this place afloat this long no a lot of investment in town for me how much you think you got invested in this quarter million dollars well that’s not too bad over 20 years but when you’re not pulling a check out her it’s tight hey this shot means everything to me uh all’s I know is that I fought as long as I can and as hard as I can to stay here and if Richard doesn’t invest in me I don’t know what I’m gonna do I’m gonna lose everything my shop all of it how much you think you’re in debt right now it’s tough say fifteen twenty thousand maximum yeah working on it we’re whittling it down I like Robert in the location is great but I think the problem is is that he just doesn’t know how to run a business he’s not billing enough hours and his equipment hasn’t been updated since Jimmy Carter was president and that’s unheard of all right man let me go see what Chris and Russell found have a seat there you see what they’re thinking [Music] what you think guys it’s small so buck and a quarter really cuz it’s small yeah but there’s not one surface it doesn’t need to be touched from the parking lot to all four walls the roof the lights the electric yeah but I mean we got a hundred thousand sorry okay and we got a location that probably should rent for somewhere around seven or eight thousand one but he’s only paying to do all these big box auto retailers around him scare you know we can be better faster quicker and cheaper we don’t have all the overhead they do they mom-and-pop shop can beat a big corporate brand by offering something the big stores can and that’s personalized one-on-one service that builds customer loyalty that’s how you take all the big boys win so he’s got a sustainable business you just don’t know how to run it what happened does not know how to run it and I think putting in the equipment we have the opportunity to get some more labor in here in turn cars faster better I see the upside but the problem is we can put in the right set of tools the right equipment the right marketing plan it’s the owners there’s no tool to fix them so when you have somebody like this who’s spitting on his own floor good luck Richard next so you see what we’re standing in now this needs to be empty rustle leaves the quick stop staff shell-shocked I don’t think he’d get it no they don’t and Gary blows a fuse hey where are you going oh then later so we got to be careful removing these signs because they’re really heavy [Music] simple he’s just missing the equipment and his attitude he suggested I think we thought hunting a quarter at it tough we go this is a small investment it’s a small shop it’s right here in Dallas where I could really keep an eye on it and it’s not going to take a lot to turn it around oh how do we start I like the area I love the fact that your rents only 2 grand a month and I like the fact that you know we go into a lot of shops and you actually got two guys in there that are actually turning wrenches and doing something yeah concerns are definitely you you could use a little little little attitude adjustment that said this is almost a Riga there’s really not anything here worth keeping but I’m thinking we can do this for around 100 a quarter and that’s everything we’re gonna throw all this stuff away cut it and get all the equipment in here that you need to make money that you’re missing out on now so I made the deal as easy as possible 125 grand where the time money and contacts get in here got it get it clean get it back open in seven days then get him gone and get him doing business on his own it is another bill but it’s a bill that’s gonna allow you to make money instead of just get into more debt or this is this is equipment that the second it hits the floor you can turn it into dollars you should easily be doing a million a year out of here and taking home 250 300 your pocket come on think about I mean it’s a tough one year of shop owner to swallow your pride and admit hey we screwed up and he’s marketed himself well so where do you go wrong I don’t know it’s a lot for me to still wrap my head around so quick but I’m willing to put in the work and get the same turn backwards should be all right man so we got a deal we got a deal sir cool all right we go I may not like what they have to say to me and I may have to eat a lot of humble pie it’s go tell him how it works but at the end of the day we got to get dirty to get somewhere let’s let’s get dirty get this thing going garyun solo what’s going on guys well uh me and Robert made a deal I’m gonna put a little money into this place he’s broken down lifts in this 1979 era shop is isn’t gonna cut it and I want to get you the equipment where you can turn around give me the damn hammering let’s get started right now let’s get going bad party is he put you in business with me and it’s gonna be rough for the first part of it we were literally gonna gut this place I don’t think I get it no they don’t so you see what we’re standing in now yes this needs to be empty by tomorrow and that means you guys have to get all your stuff out what time you want him here in the morning what time you guys normally start it says 7:00 on the building yeah that’s now dated we’re here today now good see you at 7:00 you got it hey again we’re gonna put in the work I’m excited because I know what I’ve always seen is potential for here this is gonna help us get there in same time I’m super nervous rest up yeah I’m out of here I mean it’s a lot to chew off at one time but we’re gonna do it see it seven [Music] I guess elbows let’s go good morning fellas this place is a junkyard time capsule so our job today is to get rid of anything that’s been around longer than Disco’s been dead we’ve got a ton of crap the deal 1-800 got junk that’s what I’ve been waiting to see all this garbage garbage garbage garbage garbage garbage [Music] that’s some rat poop dude that is all rat bedding so there’s rats living underneath here where he’s dealing with customers everyday this is the worst shop we’ve ever seen grab receipt this place is disgusting and what makes it even worse is they have an apartment upstairs and apparently somebody sleeps there I don’t know what he’s got up there but it needs to come out is this a computer you used to use here yeah it’s like raining so overwhelming I don’t know I just look around here it is what it is I guess that’s what happens when you fall asleep with shoe in your mouth [Music] that’s coming towards me you know what anybody getting affected by anything yes while trying to tell you what push me let’s go push you thank you I’m beginning to think the boss man may be pushing these guys a little too hard because I’m starting to see some crashing lifting pushy for his own crap he’s be a little nice are you it’s no secret I can be loud I own that but I think of it as tough love I’m here for seven days then I’m gone that’s how are we got Kesey they want to see put the things in the ignition Robert has to work with these guys every day and earn their respect don’t throw him in the damn floor anymore we’re gonna lose him again put him in a mansion and this kind of abuse has a way of backfiring brother he was trying to push me and we got to that one pile over there and it kept hitting my knees and ankles just when I thought things couldn’t get worse for Gary they did I’m done done get the camera off me [Music] I got hurt nobody gives where are you going where’s Gary banged his head and decided he just had to go home he’s done with it well wouldn’t you be to guys been sweating his ass off hustlin have you thanked him if he said hey I appreciate the extra work you’re doing for me no I have not maybe that’s why I left maybe wasn’t a bump on the head I agree come with me we’re gonna go get him all right let’s go [Music] okay yeah hotkeys target getting beat up hey look it’s on me you’re helping me get the same back where it’s supposed to be I got a man up there’s the right thing and tell you I appreciate everything you’re doing I apologize first thing going on I want you back and I want to earn your respect again alright alright you come back after lunch I’ll be back up in a little bit okay thank you sir appreciate boat [Music] we got to get these out of here this has got to get picked up the mezzanine not waiting til last I wanna Gary I came back I’m so happy so it’s great to have Gary back but there’s not a lot left to do that being the case guess who shows up let’s look it better well they couldn’t look worse so actually we go in cuff these guys and get them out of here cuz they they’ve had it damn let’s you guys you look like I’ve been working today little bit all right now you guys are off for a week without pay get on out all right oh good I like you to be honest it’s overwhelming cuz that really what I’m gonna do with myself so now we’re left with this let’s start with the apartment the offices I think we take that out and we just give that as an auxilary storage area all right this mezzanine you don’t need two pieces of storage flatten it out so the plan is to rip out the old mezzanine and the ratty old apartment above the office and utilize that space for storage what do you want to set up I actually don’t mind the way it was set up before with a lift in front of each bay there’s no reason to reinvent the wheel with this place so the plan is to swap out all the road lifts with brand new state of the art equipment then we’ll reclaim the back wall space that just had old racks and shelves there with some money-making wheel balancers and tire equipment we’ll also add an AC machine that can do recovery recharging and recycling let’s go look at the offices well look at that man big blank space to work with didn’t you say you were gonna bring somebody in here – uh yeah Steve maybe that does my stuff the same guy that actually sent me the tape on this place and his friends with Robert Neyland that’s what he does decorations countertops what happened I’m pretty confident this Steve will be able to make this a place that a family with kids will be comfortable hanging out well that’s what we need well my works done our works just begun next do I want to reuse these yeah these look like it with plans for the rehab move forward I’m sure we’ll get the unwelcomed input from Richard and then we’ll just do what you and I think absolutely until it’s lights out so we have no power you got [Music] this glass may not be safety glass it’s the first full day of build and there’s not one surface in here that doesn’t need attention but first we got a demo parts of the shop we don’t like like Rob’s old nasty apartment above the office as well as the old rusty mezzanine as it aims out olga’s be construction and design is here to help us you got the place and move forward with the new layout my window large window here door right here okay you don’t want to reuse these windows here we’re always trying to recycle things like windows if it was safety glass in a shop absolutely this one wasn’t do I want to reuse these yeah these look like it would not that one okay hey guys what’s going on what’s up Steve my racist oh yeah good how are you good Richard said you were gonna stop down here Steve Mabry and his team and rusty Buffalo are Richards go to interior design spatula so you want to take a look sure you know Steve understands the nicer a place looks the more comfortable people are gonna be parting with their money kind of ideas your thinking in here I want to go retro I mean Keller’s has been there since the fifties Mazal tied in they have car night every weekend brilliant so get some measurements in here this way you figure out what you want throw some ideas my way I’m sure we’ll get the unwelcomed input from Richard right and then we’ll just do what you and I think absolutely but I need to have this done in three days Thanks I’ll talk to you later three weeks I’ll say three days three days preciate it let me know how much that’s gonna be alright now that Steve’s taking care of the front office I could turn my attention to the floors dime addict just got here and they got their work cut out for them the concrete’s disgusting that’s where daya Maddox comes in they were able to grind this floor collect all that dirt debris and everything get it out of here and dispose of it properly next surface the surface is coming in to put down the epoxy tu floor product and I hope they don’t hit any snags cuz I got equipment coming in the morning so there’s no time to waste while the floors are getting done on the inside we’re gonna have Gulf Coast paint take care of the outside and that means we got to remove those old signs so they can get to that part of the building coming down so we got to be careful removing these signs because they’re really heavy but we need to put it out back you like how I did that right now despite Russell’s somewhat sketchy pass with a forklift he’s somehow under the illusion that he can operate a forklift with the precision of a heart surgeon can you just squeeze that sign in between these two cars I should absolutely be able to put it next to the car ride I’m more of a safety first kind of guy so I stood out of the way once we removed it from the compact car custom so I wanted to bring you over here because this is one of the first garage rehabs we’ve done and it’s a small-town mom-and-pop shop I’m bringing Robert over here to Scott his garage because when we did their garage rehab they were on their last legs just like Robert is now surprised what’s happening it’s a good Robert being a mom-and-pop shop not everybody gets this opportunity so for Richard to come in and do this it’s just incredible for us I was talking to Robert here I’m doing his shop and I wanted to show him an example of how struggling shop can be turned around business is good yes sir damn busy that’s killer you got some profit coming in and make it happen huh yes when I walked into Scotty’s he had all kinds of problems he had city issues with parking he was hoarding so much stuff that it was insane not doing good customer service etc and so forth and then you jump over to Robert Knapp and he’s dipping and doesn’t really care and as long as he makes 50 bucks to go to the beer store fine we can’t have that I got something show you well show me on dude you don’t owe me any more money so I come here less come on cuz you’re gonna like this Scotty’s turned this place around it’s jammin he’s already paid back the money and on top of that he tells these guys surprise for me we walk out he owns the building next door now let me get this door for you sir this is what we’ve done yeah it’s freaking crazy we redid everything for ceilings everything so you guys are doing that much business yeah well he literally told us that he bought the place next door and that it’s thriving just as well as his old place I don’t even know what to think about this I’m like wow speaking of guidance don’t think I didn’t notice this you guys are like marketing geniuses now summer specials bringing people in I’m trying to impact Robert on the importance of marketing I should have been out marketing we lost some fleet accounts and things like that I’m really amazed it’s this is awesome we lost some fleet accounts but after Richard came in they saw that we were more professional and they actually reached out to us and we got some more fleet accounts out of it that’s rad and one of the first things that sold me on doing Roberts shop was he admitted he I said what’s really the problem and he’s like me it’s it’s all me it’s my problem just like my dad told me a long time ago the first guy you gotta answer to is the guy in the mirror and I would answer it I got any more now now I’m gonna have to hold myself to a higher standard Roberts gonna do a good job you know he’s already moving forward and this is just gonna this is gonna catapult him into a new realm I’m glad y’all doing well thank you Scotty thank you again right out to my friend bye young lady I didn’t know what to expect and then I hear Scotty’s story and I’m really excited I mean gives me a lot of hope for what’s coming forward I’m on board I’m 100% in and that sir is how you do it bartered stuff up today’s a big deck with vent pack here to install the list this is Texas this is the biggest state in America for truck sales they even have their own Texas Edition trucks so we want to put an alignment rack in here that even if they want to do the biggest trucks that are on that road they’ll be able to do it this is a 14,000 pound or post live comparing this shop with like the big box stores is they’ll have ten Bay’s it’s overkill they’re spending a lot of money on rent on mortgages and so they got to overcharge the customers here we got a smaller shop so we can keep our prices down low that’s what it’s all about when it comes to mom-and-pop shops so things you go full force right now we got a number one air working on the electric you got Gulf Coast paint moving to the interior walls and we have Steve overseeing the front office makeover you got all that fragrance which the OCD construction team is hard working at to help us meet our deadline and the guys from JJ gates are installing electronic secure gate in the back I don’t want to jinx it but I’m feeling pretty good about our progress [Music] what outcome wears no lights so we have no power everything inside goes out so I’m figured somebody tripped the breaker the electricians work in electrician comes out and says Russ encore was just here shut the power off for non-payment well that worked he ran there’s one full nail they put tabs on the meter yeah right now with no power you guys are next Robert its Russell from garage rehab and unpaid bill how much behind are you what does is a domino effect hey number one is here finishing up electric which we’re not even halfway done okay so we’re not halfway done impact still working holy cow [Music] [Music] Robert its Russell from garage rehab well I do be doing a lot better if you paid your electric bill and they didn’t come and shut off your power Robert basically said he was not aware of the fact that he was behind in his bills I’m like yeah sure you’re surprised okay oh yeah we need to add this because at this point I can’t do a damn thing okay how much behind are you one for a hundred and fifty four dollars all right well take care of it and let me know because they need to come back and turn this on today all right a hundred and fifty four dollars we need power and we need power tools thanks to Robert all of our workers are standing around waiting for the power to come back on you didn’t pay his bill you got any of those hand drills 30 minutes goes by one hour ninety minutes and we’re still waiting are you guys gonna be able to get accept that’s bad for you because now I see you missed a spot you missed a spot in your mr. Spock let me go tell the rest of guys they can get started get back to work so this afternoon I thought I’d take Robert across the street to Keller’s hey there how you doing I want me a good cheeseburger and a surprise I’ll take the same thing the burgers here are pretty good but the main reason we came here is because it’s time to have a heart-to-heart with Robert let’s talk about something that really pissed me off this week $156 freaking light bill it’s only I I dropped the ball in this story I don’t like that and we don’t want to be behind our bills anymore yes sir that’s what we need okay now that that’s clear I want to talk about the big auto retailers all around you my plan with you is to get your prices more competitive than theirs we got to look at their rates and your rates what are you charging an hour right now 1:29 they’re showing a cheaper rate everybody stuff a dealership price for their first tires at 85 and then they step schedules up toward they’re not about 140 on our number three I think the rational thinking is a hundred an hour and now we’re beating these guys I think that that’s a temporary thing maybe six eight months and then we can start inching that back up to 120 market value yeah exactly that’s the market value we want to get people in get them used to the know we’re doing it again and get the volume going that’s right that’s right let’s bring it down let’s get a little bit below them let’s get those people coming back in and at the end of the day we’ll inch it back up slowly and we’re gonna be right back where we started from making money now the next thing is your name and the sign quick stop it looked like I was gonna pull in there for a slushee or something we’re gonna change that hey we’re here to follow you let’s get us on the right path let’s let’s make money Richards handed me the tools and let’s put those together let’s build this team let’s go full force ahead well now it’s time to eat yes sir I haven’t had colors in a long day although salvinia I like this am i taking that whole rack if they pour and it’s time to bring in the rest of the shop equipment stuff to change motors out stuff to change transmissions out so we reach out to Robin air and we got the full AC recovery recharge and recycling machine next we’re gonna be putting in some Ranger Tire equipment and of course we’re installing the state-of-the-art Kaiser air compression system now we’re gonna be able to make this place like the one-stop shop for every kind of automotive you got bring her in oh thank god this is a small shop so we desperately need a storage system from Lev RAC now my only concern is when we put the left here I don’t want to cover the hole that the mouse comes in and out can we put a little bed and cheese on the bottom to keep them out of the office whatever you want the guys have Labrecque our genius is at how to maximize the most amount of storage out of the tightest spaces we’re also taking down the old garage doors and putting in the latest automated doors from a more d-h pace was able to come out with this Illuma tech roll a clear glass garage door it is badass I’ve never seen one like it outside Santa mark is here to help us with the roof I want to be able to make sure that they get some natural light so now we got these skylights going in three by five times five way more light we’re at the point in the job where everything is going full force and we are still backed up so the last thing I need right now is Richard gracing us with his presence Wow it is right skylights when he shows up everything stops I don’t have time for that here hey number one is here finishing up electric which we’re not even halfway done Kaiser we’re not halfway done then packed still working holy cow huh well tell me what you’re thinking on this workflow because these are staggered yeah so they’re staggered because they’re actually two different lists we did two of the smaller lifts for like your smaller sedan cars and one big lift so they can work on trucks this is Texas it’s a lot I mean if you can’t make money in here you might as well give up I really like the way they brighten things up and with Chris’s new workflow this could be a money-making machine what about my boy Mabry from rusty Buffalo he is actually in there grazing away Steve Mabry Richard Rawlings how you doing sir are you going with a shelf here or a desk Earl there got a cash wrap that’s coming here right underneath this header and it’s gonna kick back to the door and then we got a break room over there what was here that was the area that he had his desk returned into and it was the dead end that was that big Oh Steve’s a genius at maximizing space and he outdid himself this time you’re killing it man good job Mike sir well they’re killing I’d huggy bitchess Eddie I am sweaty it’s ugly so how do you like the overhang I do like the overhang keeps the Sun out of that front office too the door from outside looks like he’ll jalousie window I know it’s a great door I saw the new fence that’s rad and it’s electric not like yours all you got to get out and pull the damn fence this is a remote that place is shaping up real nice but they seemed a little bit behind on the schedule but that’s Chris and Russell’s problem me I’m getting out of the heat hasn’t been this hot the whole week when I haven’t been here a whole week that’s horrible don’t cry so much Richard we got stuff to do today’s the day we call the final push which means we’re running out of time let’s see how security camera warehouse is doing because we open tomorrow and we still have a lot to do let me go yell at those guys in the back where she ate it a number one err is finishing up the last of the wiring and just in time too because Sacko product showed up with the cool LED light so we’re putting up Stryper zone is here resurfacing the pavement and stripe in the parking lot now how much time am I gonna lose in this parking lot is I still have a lot of stuff to do in there give me four or five hours and we’re here and in the office we still have a lot to do we’re gonna have to finish drywall in this once the electricians are done put someone buy up put the doors in this is a small shop and that’s a big problem because we keep getting in each other’s way and if that keeps happening we’re never gonna make tomorrow’s devil next what you think ice this is amazing Robert learns that dreams do come true oh my god this is every mechanic’s dream what they did out here I couldn’t have dreamed in my wildest dreams of anything this is amazing [Music] oh my god this stuff’s been eating oh my god it’s been eaten by mice so here’s the nice baby stuff and this is why we don’t store baby stuff in a shop oh it’s got a/c on it for Chris Chris I got something for you hey is it supposed to go here got another one with the C on it to your whole outfits up here maybe I’ll have a baby C on the way if I ever stop working I got to tell you guys I was amazed once you guys left we still kept finding junk preventative since 1979 I think the computer was actually from 1979 I don’t think they had those been we’re driving up and I’m sitting there thinking I know what to expect what you think guys holy and then I pull up and I see the colors and I’m like I would have never thought this but it works you guys clean up almost as good I don’t know we can clean up this good this is amazing I never thought it looked this good and never thought it could happen really and everybody can you happen get cleaned up again no I catch the business now USA Eagle carports came out here and they put up this custom overhang and that gives us so much shade here we read you the sign like I said nav auto-repair you’ve been here for 30 years there ain’t no damn reason about your name’s not on the building unbelievable it’s my name up there I would have never thought to do that I mean it’s amazing also the first letters of each word spell out kar kar now no one will let’s take this place for a convenience store anymore let’s go check inside at that point if that was just it that was enough but there was more behind that door oh yeah I see the the waiting room and it looks like something out of a magazine there’s a desk it’s professional there’s waiting area that people would want to sit in finally the amazing Olie perfect when I first walked through the door and everything I’m like now this is an office that I want to be in all the time I know now he’s gonna make our customers feel comfortably and everything we got a nice cold AC for me number one air you’re my friend Steve Mabry from rusty Buffalo he finished all this out here on the inside he went with a retro vibe to kind of mirror the Kellers across the street I have to thank me personally you know this is your new website that people can go on here and schedule an appointment these guys Cucuy they do great work in less than seven days they were able to put a top-notch professional set up in here you also need a management system so we always use shop basta Pro you can set the parameters in shop boss Pro to show what you build what it costs you and whammo you made this much in the bank today Wow so no more stretch pad the only thing you need a scratch pad for is jotting down girls numbers oh my god [Laughter] I like to think this is similar to what it might look like a 79 look at this going up that’s all brand-new doors Lamarr in tramatic came in it just hit the button up and down super simple to get the air moving under industrial came in we’ve got these two fans and let me tell you something they will blow you out of here we brought in three bin pack lifts here and I think some of these are heavy weight right 10,000 pounds each this is money making right here these lifts can go up down big trucks small trucks you know SUVs soccer-mom cars you call it but along with that you were missing out on alignments well tell them what they got Chris this one is a 14,000 pound for post alignment rack from Ben Pack one of the things you didn’t have also she didn’t have any tire equipment so we set it up with Ranger you’ve got wheel balance machine and a wheel and tire mounting machine also really reached out to OTC which has the evolved diagnostic program so you can scan and diagnose and check engine lights this right here makes me want to stay and make it work even better now got you set up over there with racks and racks a Haviland Plus that pretty blue thing you’re leaning on those are toolboxes from pro slat those wheel around you guys bring the tools to where you’re working these are all your pneumatic air tools from zip air tools there’s enough tools in here for all three of you to work if you want Lincoln Electric also set you up with a MIG welder you’re not doing a lot of mufflers anymore but when it comes in I want to make sure that you guys still can do the old work that you did they took me from 1979 and brought me all the way to present and I can’t thank them enough this is every mechanic’s dream what they did out here now one thing that I’m a stickler about also is everybody looking right so we’ve got everybody set up with a full complement of Dickies they’re already embroidered they got the new logo on there those people over there the big box are wearing a uniform we’re gonna wear a uniform so we need to play some of the games and then we need to beat them at all of them this is like the rebirth of my career and my opportunity thank you guys thank you for inviting my heart I couldn’t have dreamed in my wildest dreams of anything this is amazing I like to open up and let the public know that we’re open so Keller’s been here for 50 years you’ve been and the new colors and I think I need to go over there and give it a try again all right man well my business is done here hey I can’t thank you enough I think Roberts on good footing right now not only has the shop turned the corner but he’s turned a corner and that’s what’s really important at the future of this business since we left nav auto repair not only is Robert been able to pull his
