DIY Repair Car Dents with the Dent Puller Kit by VTOLO Review

what’s happening on motive pandas gonna run panda here want to show you something it’s actually 8 by Vitiello paintless dent repair kit with a hundred watt glue gun and as I unbox it here because this is actually how comes I just want to tell you that you know I work on cars I like to save some money if our repair tends to be pretty expensive for the little things especially for the the art more than science things like fixing dents for paintwork or you know anything what do you call it clear coated and I believe that you should be wrenching every day and so I wanted to show you this because this is gonna allow you to work on some of those dents on your car in your own garage and that’s gonna save you a ton of money now there is paintless dent repair PDR and obviously can go to body shops like Gerber or Mako and and get things fixed kind of the old-fashioned way but those can not only take a lot of time but be very expensive and sometimes you have a little bit of a dent a little bit of a crease at or doing something like that where you don’t even care and you don’t need it fixed but you know if you did something with it it’s gonna be better than doing nothing now look they’ve got their website on here hot PDR tool com paintless dent repair and I have useful things like this in the past and been really amazed with them so not only are we gonna unbox this thing but I am going to take it out can try to get out some of the the door damage on my car and like I said it’s particularly powerful for some of us who wouldn’t get those replaced unless we could do it ourselves or fixed I should say with without doing ourselves because a lot of us will just live with whatever happens to our car we’ll kind of you know I don’t know lamented maybe but we won’t actually take it and pay to have it fixed professionally now I want to just show you inside this bag this thing is cavernous there was a ton of extra space it’s actually pretty nice we have like a dragon logo in here dragon logos I should say bow in cheek and so four of PDR kits like this this is the nicest setup I’ve actually ever seen so and there’s a ton of stuff in it so I’m gonna kind of reach around the camera here because I didn’t expect it to be this big first of all we have a bunch of glue sticks and these aren’t the thin glue sticks that I’ve shown you in previous ones these are like the thick round glue sticks they’re like half an inch in diameter maybe our third of an inch in diameter and they’re pretty big now you do get the yellow and the black and I think they’re just a little bit different in terms of the stickiness so I’m not sure which is which yet but I’ve always used a clear but you get ten glue sticks right out of the gate and they’re the big ones okay so all right now where should we start we have a little spray bottle here and I know this probably like five ounces six ounces and this is really for out an alcohol solution so you can spray it on the glue after it is you know after you pull the dent you usually leave the glue attached to either your device or the car and you spray a little bit alcohol and that tends to release it it actually works amazingly well I kind of didn’t think that would work but you have a little terry cloth towel here as we go through everything we have the pull the pullers here so maybe I should start with the main thing let’s take a look at the dent for itself which is this little aluminum block bad-boy lever and this is what is always kind of the most interesting piece and this is the one that does all the work and it’s probably the one that probably the single most important piece on the whole kit and as you can see here at man they’ve painted the block it looks really nice you have to swing feet here with kind of a large pad and then they have rubber on the bottom so this is gonna press up against your car I’ll demonstrate that and then kind of hold the puller in one place and then as you use these squeeze bars here that pulls up on this plunger which you’re gonna attach to some of these things and then glue it basically to the little dent and so you pull it and that’s and this holds it in place now you can adjust it right here to give yourself a little bit more or less travel you raise it up and down depending on how deep the dent is and where you kind of want to start with it so you get that piece right there then it makes sense to show you the little pores that come with it now you do a few bags so you have a bunch of different shapes and sizes but here’s a couple that are pretty pretty typical so I’m gonna grab a big one and a small one so for a really small dent maybe a little bit not just like a ding but maybe a little bit of a longer small dent you would use something like this you could put glue right on there you stick it right into the the dent itself then you can see how the bottom here is notched and so you’ll pull up and that’ll pull on it and sometimes these pop off sometimes they do not and then you have to kind of finish it with the the release agent now this is a big one say maybe you have a I don’t know you lean do into your door with your knee or something and put a nice big dent you could get a nice big grabbing surface area on that so you’ve got a whole bag of these you know another full bag of different sizes here these look like more around I don’t know I mean you just get fun you get a ton of attachments here right square one man you just get you just get a ton so pretty much any kind of dent you have you’re gonna be able to find some sort of you know some sort tool now finish it up and here’s where I want to show you this I can’t believe this comes with the two so you get a slide hammer as well so if some of this stuff I’ve actually never personally used before so this has been great okay so you give this little t-handle here and that screws on to the end of your slide hammer this thing is pretty pretty Maseo so slide that on you have a nut here to lock it in place you have this long steel new stainless steel and then you have a weight here big thick weight and this is what you do is you it’s nice that they have the spring here too you put this on the little plastic glued on piece you put it in there and then you would slide it like this and really banging it out so this is really helpful when you don’t nee have the space to around a dent you know so for like a dent on a pillar where you don’t have real estate on the sides to kind of brace and pull it off maybe you’ve got something that you really need to put a lot of force on maybe not just something ginger like this and a few millimeters to travel well maybe you’ve got to try to pull out a much bigger dent this slide hammer is gonna be the way to do that so I love the fact that it comes with that now going through the process here we also this bag but what we have here is finishing tools and so what we have is like this anodized aluminum nail head and that’s pretty big it’s almost like an inch on this end and then what we have are these little polymer tips that screw in here and the reason we do this is maybe we’d pull that dent out too much and now we have to level it back down so what you have is this this little tool you can put in this tip you can put in a finer tip like this you can put in a rounded tip got a kind of a flattening tip and then this little smaller flattened tip and then you would take this so it comes with a hammer let’s finishing hammer which is a small hammer I mean bigger than a watch hammer and then we have two sides on it like this rubber mallet on this side and then kind of this more uh-oh plastic like end on this side what we would do is we’d find that highs point we just tap it back right so now instead of pulling on it we’re pushing it back down so you know if we overshoot it a little bit we have that Dohee to compensate and then ma’am so many pieces zoe pieces we have the glue gun here itself and this is a pretty big man I’m pretty impressed with it non grounded outlet here but like I said these glue sticks are pretty large so I guess that it makes sense that the glue gun is pretty large too but as you can see I mean this is a full-sized you knows what we call carry size or service duty size and we have looks like a little brass fitting around the tip they’re less of a swing down stand here so you can put it up power button right here on the side and this is kind of push that glue through there so we have that and then obviously once you put glue on your car at some point you’re gonna have to remove it now sometimes when I have done this in the past the glue has just been able to fall off this piece or sometimes you pry it and the glue sticks to this and you just peel it off there sometimes it sticks to the car sometimes it sticks to this and these are the tools that you use to separate it you can scrape the glue off and sometimes you have to get a little forceful with it so they have a nice serrated edge here but these tools to remove the the used glue plus your release agent is going to be key so let’s get this all set up at the car now see the little dents with the naked eye can be hard enough and kept right on camera can be even a little harder but what I have on the door here are two little ripples and they are kind of long they are door dings and you can kind of see them right here and right here and as I kind of go up and down and catch the reflection there you can kind of see them not super obvious but especially there when I’ve got the garage floor line and kind of see them and you know that super bad no broken paint or anything like that on them but they are annoying and I see them every time that I walk up to my door so we’re gonna try to do our best to pull them a little bit and just minimize it without like I said going to the shop because this is something I would not pay anyone to work on all right so I have my hot glue gun plugged in here and it’s heating up already gotta clear glue stick in there I’m gonna pick some of these that are kind of longer and flatter and that’s because I’m only gonna use the center well we gonna put a beauty glue on the center just so I can line it up right where the the crease is and I’ve got a few of them er D and then I’m gonna use this one is my dent puller so let’s give it a shot all right now all I’m doing is taking a hot glue here in kind of putting it right in the center rolling a bead right down the center of these plugs then I’m just gonna lay it right where I see that kind of right in the middle of the crease itself the best I can you just hold it there for a second because the car is cool it just kind of sticks there pretty quickly and then I will try to put these wherever I see and wherever I’m gonna want to pull now you don’t want to line them up against right against each other too much right now because I’m gonna need to have enough space where I put the puller itself around it so I’m gonna let those cool there for a second and then we will pull on them all right so what I’ve done here is I’ve adjusted this to tighten it up and take up a little slack so it fits kind of over the end of this plug here and now it’s already a pretty tight fit but if I just work this you can see it pulling on that plug and it’s just pulling gently on that metal now I’ve kind of found that you can balance this a little bit or you can just kind of pull it really quickly and sometimes it’ll pop right off it really depends on how significant or kind of how severe the dent is I’m just gonna put a little pressure on it and you can see popped off there but now in this case it was still stuck on there but I can just peel that off and already right where that glue was me and I can see maybe just a little ripple but it really pulled that out which is amazing so I’m gonna do some more here and see how that goes and then I’m gonna where the glue was it kind of pull up the dent but now I can see that dent a little crease there where there was nothing attached so I’m gonna glue another piece right there let that cool and pull on these in the meantime so we’ll keep going you alright guys so I’ve done some polls here not sure how good that’s gonna show up on camera in terms of what I’ve done but you know I still have just a little bit of rippling and in one case I could use that hammer and pound down just a little bit but what you can see here you know I’ve got just a little bit right here which I haven’t worked on yet or as much right I kind of did some some general polls there but man you know and it’s gonna be hard kind of prove it to you until you know you kind of keep working on and and find it out but man right to my eye it is so much less noticeable already and again it’s just kind of the macro movements here you kind of use that hammer to find it out but man I mean unbelievable I mean to the touch I don’t even know that I would pick it up you know it’s just when you really catch the reflection right I can still see a little bit of work to do so I’m gonna keep working on this and keep getting a finer and finer but man I’m really impressed with this and for this type of hit you know which is inexpensive has all these tools in it you can work on it right away unpackage it and start pulling out dings or dents in your car what a fabulous way to make some progress and kind of restore your jalopy without having to go out and break the bank hundreds of dollars on PDR you know something like this is is really affordable and you can use it for a long time and on multiple cars so check it out I’ll put a link to this one in the description Peter Brown panned out
