Automotive Technology: Mopar CAP with Kayla

(Music) Student: I thought the campus was
beautiful and everything was pretty amazing.
It’s invigorating.
You’re learning every single day.
I just think it’s interesting how cars work.
It’s fun.
I have so much fun working.
It does get frustrating but I love it no matter
what.
Service Manager: It’s’ no secret that there
is a high demand for trained technicians.
The program seems to be very beneficial for
people looking to get into the industry.
Student: I like to learn how to do things
with my hands because I can learn better doing
it that way.
You sit and you listen and then you go and
apply that.
We go and do activities on the cars and then
come back and learn a little bit more.
You’re going back and forth so that you can
see how things work.
And if you need help, no matter what, the
instructor is there.
Service Manager: We get to see how they transition
from when they first start to how they grow
and learn the dealership ins and outs and
how Chrysler handles their repairs.
Student: I love it here.
Oh my goodness.
I miss working here when I’m at school because
I’m doing so much.
Even though I do a lot of the same things,
I can learn new things every time, because
I can make it faster, get better at it.
Service Manager: She’s self-motivated.
She learns quickly.
She’s not afraid to try new things.
I think a lot of her schooling, her classroom
training she’s done at the college has really
helped.
Student: Being at school, being here, I’m
one of the guys.
I’ve always been one of the guys, even when
I was a kid hanging out with all the kids
in the neighborhood.
It’s just natural for me.
I’m going to come out of this with a degree
and licenses that I wouldn’t have otherwise.
Service Manager: At the time of her graduation,
she should be a level two technician which is valuable
to us and to her as well.
So we hope to keep her on after she graduates
through the program.
Student: I’m ecstatic with the choice that
I’ve made, being able to do the thing that
I love.
