>>We’re trying to
prepare students
to enter the automotive repair
industry as apprentices.
We teach bumper-to-bumper
automotive repair
from introduction to automotive.
All major areas of
automotive is covered.
Automatic transmissions,
manual transmissions,
engine performance, engine
repair, transmissions,
brakes, steering suspension.
Most of our students work
in either dealerships
or independent shops
in automotive repair.
We bring vehicles in from the
public that have problems.
And when the vehicle comes in,
we don’t know what’s
wrong with it.
So the students get to work
right beside the instructor
and diagnose what’s wrong.
It’s not just learning
what’s in the textbook,
and it’s not inserting faults
in vehicles that’s
like a static repair.
The student — the instructors
don’t know what’s wrong
when the vehicle comes in.
And we’re diagnosing
right beside the students.
So it’s the closest real-world
simulation situation you can
present to the students
but by still not being
in a real working shop.
I would say we have the best
faculty anywhere around.
We just got a diverse background
of our instructors that can work
on anything, and they
all bring that experience
to the students when they teach.
I love this job, you know.
And it probably passes
along to the students.
You know, we have fun out here.
