Automotive Service Writer Sales Tip – 3Cs to Writing Effective Repair Orders


hi this is Mike Cayley from the automotive training institute like to talk to you for a moment about what I call the three C’s I think this is really a great tool to help you keep the work orders clean straight organized and let it tell a story so what are the three C’s well the first C is the concern that’s going to be the concern that the customer has of why they’re bringing in the vehicle now they came in because their brakes are squeaking they believe that something’s leaking underneath the car and they have a headlight burnt out that’s not one concern that’s three concerns so make sure you separate out the concerns the second C that’s the cause that’s where the technicians going to go ahead and do his inspection of the vehicle and he’s going to give you the cause of what’s causing that customer’s concern so that’ll be an explanation of what’s causing that the third C is the correction what’s it going to take to correct the customers concern so now we’ve told the story we have the customers concern we have the mechanic telling us what’s the cause of that concern and the technicians also telling us what’s the correction of that concern this tells the story very simply it explains it and it’s written properly on the work order it flows nicely will help you stay organized will help you in sewing in the features and the benefits this is Mike Kelly from the automotive training institute looking forward to your feedback and suggestions have a great day
