Auto Repair Tip Wilmington Delaware – Jeep Air Conditioning and Heater Core Repairs

okay we’re following up from yesterday on that heater box that we saw in the Jeep which is sitting over here right now so what we’re going to do is we’re looking at it’s a blend or problem and we’re going to try and focus in on exactly where which is that little white knob right here the blend door is not opening properly setting bad signals back to the module so we have our lead tech ryan rossi gonna just do a little explanation on the particular problem ryan take it away well we have the blend door moves inside here and it prefers hair either torch and through the heater core or on the other side of the evaporator one side seat one side air conditioner the way poster works is they use these moves here to turn this knob here which works in conjunction with the blend or the way it knows when to stop is if you can get in that little stop there when it turns all the way it hits that when it meets more resistance the amperage goes up and the computer knows to shut the motor right that’s its stopping point okay because this has dual zone climate there’s two blenders this is the one that’s in the front and as you can see the stop still there this is the blend or control for the back you notice there’s no stop Chrysler’s updated this part because of durability as you can see there’s the one stop and if I keep turning it I can just keep going on and on right now it’s stripped off stripped out correct and that’s why we can’t control the exacta the air flow so the door stays down towards the air-conditioning side right not allowing any heat to collect through okay good point good point well there you have it we’re going to replace the blender and you can see that the panel set where the box separates here we’ll replace that one blend door now part wise minimal part cost however you can tell from yesterday’s video and today’s the assembly reassembly and on our out of the Jeep does add labor time so again this is a failure of these chrysler jeep units and to be kind of expensive so appreciate to keep with us this is a part two of this job and we’ll try and finish up with you on part three where we actually get everything taken care of all right so we’ll see you again thank you Greg Buckley Buckley’s Auto care talk to you soon okay we’re here following up on the heater core as like a part three here and we’ve got the blend doors exposed we’re going to try and zoom in to see exactly where this crack is current and Ryan did some light trying it a little bit light in there to see where we’re going on trying to zoom in here but not take the light away it actually is okay can you see how we’re turning and actually it’s spinning within the case it’s a little difficult camera zooming is not great but you can see how it’s stripped out causing the blend doors not to operate whereas the other one isn’t okay shape and it’s working the way that it should well we’re going to replace both and the whole internals and get it back up to snuff so there you have it will show some final final pieces while we’re here this is the AC evaporator core we will inspect that to make sure that we’re not leaking down below here see where it’s dark that is a good indication that we may have a situation with that and we may want to replace that while we’re here if we get the okay but again this is all incorporated and leads to an expensive repair but the HVAC units are a full time system in your vehicle they not only supply heat and air conditioning they drive the air and that’s their main purpose whether it’s hot or cold and they do help well they have to help with defrost but anymore it’s a 24/7 operation unit some are even programmed PCM wise and they have to they have to be working properly so major system totally exposed for you here Buckley’s auto care glad you stuck with us and we’ll talk to you soon
