there are viewers and welcome back to the cell phone Auto Channel so it’s a new day here the shop it’s a Tuesday Nords near as bad it’s Monday definitely nowhere near as good as a Friday at 5:00 those are the best times you know as long as we’re all good to go home but it should be just another normal day here at the shop whatever normal is so it’s not bring you guys along and we’ll see what happens whoa turbo shocks on this one they don’t work at all so this one the first project for the day missus those running this lady back home and the doctor going crazy in there longer Trinity so this one came from Monroe muffler she took it to the Monroe I guess for a oil change had a coupon they told her she needed a water pump accorded her an obscene amount of money and you know naturally we’ve got the water pump job now so I think oh this thing is Buick Century Inc so I got two thousand new extension with the big three one so I’m just going to verify it and throw a pump on this thing alright all aboard the gravy train these are a nice job to add in the morning easy if I should say that snap all the bolts off the time to cover sink wrap the belt loose here right out of the way any cool that somebody’s already converted this from the exes sludge that’s what we call it always the numbered space it’s a regular green the old plain Jane antifreeze so you don’t have to worry about that or it’s full Universal stop there’s phone you’re gonna eat on there I know there’s a bowl hiding up on this oh oh this for me all right this quarter sell the sweet job on a quarterback Oh 3c5 3:06 with the classic no turn signals silicon to be silicon silicon all over the bolts well not actually that’s a it’s a spacer on that one a lot of these good species act that was just black silicon meters black silicon on to but because I’ve never seen the little black spacers on anything other than Oh GM water pump so is old stuff see my newer stuff let’s seal it everything I get you all right bust out a little screwdriver I think so I think so bitch buck ready go so it looks like that universal crap doo dee doo yeah it’s orangish its greenish big jumbo super screen let’s drain it I’ll get this cleaned off get this water pump back up on here oh man a new pump come with two gaskets wonder what that means we’re just gonna go with the one we’re going with a single layer gasket style hose it down good I’m big fan silicone on paper gaskets always just makes a mess so we use a little spray tack that’ll keep her in place that are slapped on there I guess I should say if you’re going to use silicone it appears that whatever fella put this on use the silicone and probably the most proper way that you can is only on one side of the paper gasket you know obviously this is all schmudge up a silicone but it appears that it was likely only put on between the pump and the gasket to hold the gasket on – you don’t stick it on which is it – bad one – time both sides and you gotta get it all off because sometimes silicone can be a real pain you don’t clean off depending on the application where it’s at you know of course this is right out in the open so it wouldn’t be too bad I should say it wasn’t too bad I just got in there with a little brush and naturally better give that right out of the way you guys only yell at me when I got any brake cleaner so I would say if you’re going to use it use your mind a little bit we’ll see stage spill free funnel like I’ve got these in my a store fellas right here awesome to have around particularly when they put the reader here on a little bit of a can’t build up and more of it on the ground and you’re doing the radiator get it filled up til she comes up the bleed screw here we got open I’ve got the other one open over here on the thermostat housing so takedown cool it pretty quick where she is she peed close our bleed screws these three ones are pretty easy to bleed out flashbacks here used to do intakes on these things by the oh my gosh you can’t tighten it except none of these a Watts knows that lot but to say a lot psyche that looks like a warm-up we’ll check this lady’s control arm bushings the guy at Monroe says they were wasted and there were 280 something to change him so let’s check that out here’s the Monroe muffler man was correct that bushing is wasted so what will happen is these control arms when you set the car down the control arm will actually go up and start smacking on the frame you know making a pretty loud clunking noise come over here there’s one that’s semi good it’s just starting to tear not too bad yet but you can kind of see the difference the semi did one indefinitely bad one it’s like our pumps going round and round temperature gauge missile hot rod we got all the money lights on that was on when we pulled it in temperatures coming up we got from my MUC 30 pension here oh she didn’t say anything to me about her engine leh I’m surprised but like I said that was on when we pulled it in believe me folks she’s all warmed up I better go check with mrs. OH oh my gosh see what’s next she doesn’t know we’re doing this what’s on mrs. all maybe you don’t know this but we’re having a daily shop thing uh what you call it normally do a normal day of the shop video so you’re taking care of our child to get over there mmm good Trinity mommy taking care of you is she good all right you’re going to be there for the next eight hours are you gonna be over there for the next eight hours no okay dogs sleeping where’s your where’s your other dogs your dog under my desk all right good it’s gotta be nice to be a dog seriously eight hours a day of that a lot more than that all right wow that’s just like the morning that so mrs. all what’s next the agenda man o’clock maybe timestamps around the day it’s nine o’clock and one been interrupted twice that’s not bad only two phone calls oh yeah talk to us I’m looking that’s all let’s move into Friday haha the second one down yeah yeah it says moved to Friday that’s I moved it cuz we’re old school I can’t just click outside moved to Friday hopefully something sees it you sorry rose oh we got some got some tow winds out there we got no start I think no start no start up show up nope I don’t see it out there okay so yeah you’re no star yeah we’re good rear differential front brakes and pull let’s do that one know it sounds fun run this away guess Keith when you do rear differential cover front brakes and assess like SES Lee and the lady with the Buick oh here didn’t say nothing about the your chicken to latina I get it I guess so I know it’s 9:30 now what time was it last time I just told it what time I was remember was at 9:00 when the phone rang there goes a half an hour nice where she is oh the old limit new baby so this is what they’re talking about the rear differential cover this little fella is all crusty starting to leak fortunately it looks like it’s leaking at the top so we’re going to get that slop out apparently needs front brakes so I will get the stuff coming for that in the meantime we’ll go grab a drain pan whoo this thing ripped off the peel of front tires off these things here I typically it’s my habit just to get you know I mean besides just your typical pad rotor job is I’ll just get calipers for these because honestly it is cheaper for me to replace the calipers and it is to even pull the pins out and lube them on these cars these calipers on these GM’s are they’re like maybe maybe $18 or super super super cheap you know comes the new pins and hardware and everything so you know in this case it’s probably what will happen here but we’ll have a look all right parts are on their way I got some sockets got a hammer I’ve got an extension we’ll see what happens I’ll tell you right now this thing probably has an evac code I can smell it I got a big nose so I can smell these things get this rusty mess off here without incident aka broken bolts ah look gear oil in the morning you look nice and clean smugly great your old Bureau that’s like synthetic there she is with too many prickles on the old magnet so that’s good I never want to see any part numbers laying at the bottom of these so we’ll let this go let it drizzle bit here I’ll get some of this gasket hacked off they’re on their way with a new cover and our brake components all right well we’ve got our goodies here and I take like I say this Cal for dirt cheap anytime we do these just just by Calvin’s Maura you can’t say I mean unless you’re you know probably the southern climates non-salt felt areas these aren’t that big a deal but around here like say by the time you pull these rubber boots and stuff out clean all the rust on the whole get the pins actually working if you’ve got more than ten minutes into it that’s too much time and because it takes quite a bit to clean them out where these inner seals go and to knock new ones in and of course a you know the brake pads that we buy come with all the new new rubbers and everything so to me that’s it’s kind of silly even waste your time doing that you get these calipers their lifetime warranty next time it needs brakes you just warranty the CalPERS they just remind him I always take my party they never seem to put enough you know Lube on the guide pins there so we always take them apart Lube them up make sure they slide in easy and that’s it other than that it’s pretty much your run-of-the-mill brake job we’ve done quite a few brake job videos I think are done enough to know that that you guys should know what our habits are when we’re doing these and how we prefer to do them if I think about it I’ll put a couple links in the description there yep some of those videos but it’s all pretty much the same Camello fella there’s one side there’s the other side and these calipers here you have to put a little bit of a little bit of brake fluid here where the ears of the pad are gonna ride don’t forget that it’ll help keep that from getting rusty so fast and then just the face of the piston which is quite thin but hopefully will slow down the corrosion process won’t stop it little slow down a little bit anyways there we go that one’s ready to go so takes less time to do that it does clean up the old boy Oh a spider daddy and all spider looks like that’s cleanup that hub she’s crusty like keep hold add so much around probably too many of those things we were great for holding on coders so I always keep a couple hid around and the old blue box it comes great mrs. oh yeah I called him yesterday he’s gonna pick it up today it’s inside over here that’s in the other bed today this morning where were we so I cleaned a face in the tub with you guys now lots of videos pub face cleaning stud cleaning tool dog under that sanding disc that’s all clean and shiny what were we talking about oh yeah on the steering knuckle here you got to clean up these ears here because our caliper whatever caliper we say find the side so it’s going to this caliper you know slides on this portion of calipers so you got to give her a little spritz of lube up there also very important almost out of the good stuff here let’s go upstairs my brush is sloppy there it is in our pad caliper assembly I just stuck my hand right in it ding-dong it’s ready to go you’ll slip right in peace geek and then we got a couple bolts here some let’s loop throw a little Lube on the thread keep them from seizing up as a spindle steering knuckle rather and we’ll torque this to factory specs of course as we always do and then pinched the brake hose with a pair of a pitch pliers swap that around will bang on the other side real quick bleed them out ship it we need to take a break for a minute customers here to pick up this car so we got to take and pull that out for them that’s what we did yesterday front wheel bearing rear wheel bearing CV axle some brakes and an inspection so he’s happy now we’ll pull this out for them alright both sides are done hoses are on what we’ll do just let it gravity bleed assuming it will with the cap on Darrell’s forced though and calipers are nice and free good split out will clean off some of our fingerprints and then we’ll bleed it out the proper way or the rest of the way usually gravity bleeding yep there she goes you got nothing it works pretty well I’ve done it before so so gravity bleed um you get up in there once once you know fluids up here in the caliper usually what I’ll do is take up a little striking device tap on the calendar there there’s any air bubbles stuck in the casting usually ran to the top crack it open again like that little bubble out then get up in there and pump up the pedal you know bring the piston out come out here gravity bleed it again and surprisingly it usually works quite well depending on the design of the caliper and such but I’m sub keep mine yeah I got this all spray down with some high tech you do both sides want me to tell you what you better get it right because this stuff is super sticky so there that will keep our gasket from you know shaking off just look at seal but good heavy cover and get the gaskets up we’ll be fine and a shot it’s a doorman of all things usually we see or talk crap about doormen if we still will don’t get me wrong because if you put this on a flat surface you know she’s not perfectly flat but I think it’ll do the job but they made it out of some actual heavier Chinese steel I was almost I was wrong one when it came in the package it’s almost too heavy get that lined up like so we put the bolts back in it it’s got a nice got the drain plug the fill plug in the rear on these aftermarket covers which can be handy particularly in the in the Rust Belt region because it is plausible that your fill / check plug could be trusted salad a lot of places don’t check these during normal normal service don’t check rear differentials we do SMA along with your transfer case front differential oil all fluids when it comes in for service if your rear plug is stuck in that I usually I can get them out of the air hammer use all good a chisel bit you know get on there sideways and lacquer is round right now or I’ll take like a half inch nut that’s fine right on there with a welder all right just had to fill up a guy’s players with some air and that resulted in a $3 10 mrs. fantastic it always like tips buys this ice cream how did I have like an ice cream addiction I do I just wanna take it kill it up let’s gear oil when we’re all done you can either take and you know hose this off with brake parts cleaner and then hit it with some under code or some primers paint or just do down with fluid film so this is our choice around here fluid so number really found a good undercoat that will actually stay so any time I do you know like backing played stuff like that we spray them down with undercoat and he said air was uh fluid though babies come back your later Stahl slimy dust and everything stuck to it wipe it off just like brand-new that’s it might look a little funky at first but like I say flip this baby down dirt road a few times once it builds up like that little layer stuff just stays around until somebody actually physically wiped it off I’m super excited as oh because I got a package in the mail that’s why it is most of you know my little black impacting air ratchet what kaput or you may not know because a went can put on this little fella right here I don’t know what’s gonna come out first so who knows anyhow it broke I cried we had a moment of silence actually because I thought it was doomed and I called the Astro and they says let me say I told my didn’t fault my warranty card because no one in the world ever does and he says and and that was it so I sent it in they fixed it but I sent him a little letter letting him know that this ranch is famous it says dear Astro as I told you before this is my little baby here you be nice to entry to like it was your own now in regards to the warranty this tool has only had the best care in operation and only operated at operating pressures no greater than 90 psi it gets oiled every 15 minutes operation is has never been hooked to a line full of moisture actually no that’s a lie truth be told I’ve never old it in the line pressure well about 160 psi on average I say you folks make one hell of a tool fact is I think this very tool in the Box you have may have single-handedly may have single-handedly been the best salesman out there she’s famous you know as seen on YouTube as a bribe to repair this beast and get it back in a timely fashion I’ve included some super sweet SMA stickers to plaster all over your ride now we care for that beside adding 15 extra horsepower per sticker I also attract the ladies so be warned kind regards ergo so today I got this box all the way from California which came back quite time then when did I send this thing in on it on that night I think I sent it or they ate something what’s today 13th 14th so that was quick it missile over a week something like that I can’t do the math very well but here she is he’s right here it’s my original 1/2 all got her beauty marks on it stickers still for ossicles I got an official letter from the folks at Astro so as we received your baby in critical condition immediately showed symptoms of having no beans as you can see from the vas testing we performed or we were able to confirm that indeed we’re able to confirm that it did in fact need more beans the transplant was their only option so you can see there’s our little feller it I’m getting a little choked up just seeing her in surgery like this and I wasn’t there but indeed it was a lack of genes it’s not just kidding it’s reversing spring just stopped being springy which can gunk things up this can happen over time especially with higher line pressures why did they assume I have oh I told them I included the dead one in the baggie so there’s what died the reversing spring stopped being springy I’m surprised because I Jam this thing pretty hard against the head I’m pretty sure well this is what they say broke then nevertheless if a car comes in four rotors it’s a good time to replace pads so we just swapped in new ratchet internals as well well she’s got a full makeover thanks for the stickers will display them proudly around here too Astro I was considering bringing one or two home but I’m not ready for the added responsibility of a new child and he goes on to say a couple things go forward product manager Bob Wow so that’s it our little Phil is back she’s back in action Asheville took care of it probably because they knew I took care of it so well with my rigorous oiling and my attention to detail as far as pay attention to line pressure and oil oiling I assume the oil that so we don’t have to know we can retire our other one get this baby back I miss this thing so much are you ready mrs. OH all right go ahead and pump them up here so the pistons come out they feel stiff yet okay hold it down whoa man almost got me all right that’s good let up do the other side second appearance Wow I just busted out the very clean for the folks we’re actually using on break that’s unusual I think West time we did one of these videos we did some break bleeding in and also such a rookie got the breaks in difference I’m totally forgot about the check engine light it’s gonna pull an hour I took a lift out and I see that the money late was on yes let’s look at that forgot all about it so pull it codes on this saying like I say I bet I bet we’re probably gonna find the evap problem I could smell it but looks like the filler neck and stuff is relatively new tanking everything there look like it’s in good shape but we’ll see we’ll see what code it is first we’re get too excited it should have just guessed your classic Bo 440 let’s see if we can toggle on the vent valve output control Z BAP you know canister vent that’s back there we’ll see if that perhaps it’s just stuck oh never mind that one’s not back there it’s under the hood from the sounds of it so those ones never fail oh I feel tank pressures zero point zero seven inches of water so that appears to be working if we can do a purge in seal here we’ll see what kind of leak we’re dealing with my at the bus stop they over smoke up get it all smoked up baby purge and see let me fire this pick up okay so it’s a sealed system that canister vent closed let’s purchase a look a guy we should see our fuel tank pressure deke insert the decay not to gain very rapidly / hardly at all Misha’s should be dropping like a rock right now so it’s 60% let’s go back to zero see if it goes back to zero how much much fuels in the sack 48% so half a tank try this little fella again let’s get a purge solenoid wide open this should be collapsing the sides of the tank at this point since this quickly goes back to atmospheric pressure all right well we must have a massive massive leak let’s go uh visual inspection those kind of cars well don’t take no Russ no ringlets intact time’s ease with the tethers on them like it on a little cockpit let’s give her like a good push and twist see if we have any change I’ll be a good experiment you guys set up here going on okay let’s see that’s still closed spurred this little fellow out again that’s hurt someone’s working or the faint pressure sensor I’m surprised here too because when the personal I did a hundred percent usually Mandy sang full engine won’t start to run a little funky well obviously has a big leak as we can tell and we shot the purge solenoid in it it goes right back to half as good pressure so with that being said we better smoke it this is our hookup we’ll turn it on to the evap purge line up here we’ve got our vent solenoid we’ve got our cannister so she’s gotta be peeing underneath it sounds like somebody else just pulled in we got her back up in the air look at that this appear to be coming straight out of our gas cap like I say this filler neck and stuff looks good I mean that looks you know rust wise see can we see the back half up these are like a two-piece let things in pretty good shape snout crusty well yeah you shine the light get sucker coming out of there like a little waterfall I want to leave it on the lift this time even though we didn’t have to have it I look for that but I’ll take it order a gas cap we’ll go harass mrs. OC what’s for lunch and then I just leave everything hooked up we’ll come back and retest that move on did you hear the noon whistle oh you still take care of our daughter oh all right you’re what they call one of those Iman’s Electric moms yeah you
