[Music] hi I’m Daniel 1del an automotive aesthetic here in Charlottesville Virginia today we’re working on Ben’s evo we’re gonna be doing some routine stuff to it I’m gonna start with a you know decontaminating everything and you know Jen you know doing a general detailing aspect of it we’re gonna do some paintwork correction polish out the paint you know bring it back to the best condition we possibly can and then we’re gonna code it we’re using modesta be Co for but another aspect that we’re doing that is going to be that we’re pretty excited about is dry ice blasting we’re planning on dries blasting the undercarriage and suspension components at engine bay to clean it up as much as possible so let’s get started we’re gonna be doing next is a chemical bath this is our necks we’re gonna spray it on the on the whole car let it most pop for a minute it should sound purple and it’s gonna be able to visibly show how many bonnet contaminants are on the paint and hopefully make it easier to remove them [Music] [Music] we’re gonna start by washing the Evo we’re gonna clay bar it afterwards to remove the bonded contamination after that you know in the paint’s kind of is clean we’re going to go back and rejuvenate it as much as possible polishing it probably going to be doing it to stage correction maybe maybe three stages in certain areas [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] so Ben’s car is 12 years old there are some things that are beyond beyond fixing you know beyond the realm of traditional you know ways of fixing things we’re gonna you know some some areas just need to be touched up you know just some rock chips and stuff like that and you know when you touch up Rock chips it’s not going to be a hundred percent we’re not you know in no way shape or form you know the the expectation has been set that it’s not going to be perfect but it’s going to you know the objective is to improve it another issue that Ben’s car has right now is that the UV coating on the headlights as has broken down and has failed and so at that at that point a service that we offer is headlight restoration the process for that type of treatment you have to sand off the the factory coating completely you do that with wet sanding using thousand grit 1500 2000 2500 3000 grit sandpaper at that point you know you you’re left with you know a raw headlight you know that needs to be polished out [Music] [Music] after it’s polished out we then protect it you know typically a lot of people prefer you know there’s definitely at advantages of having paying protection film on your headlights no questions about it especially for a track car or something like that [Applause] at that point you know you’re left with you know the paint in the best possible condition we’re gonna protect it using Modesto BC f4 which is a coating a lot of people know them as ceramic coatings no desta there’s a glass coating it’s only one of its kind that I found you know it’s it’s a one layer system that that you know to be quite honest I’m pretty excited to see what its gonna look like on the Evo I’ve been with modesta for five years now I’ve tried other coatings out and I keep finding myself going back to Modesto so modesta is a one coating application the product right where you know other coatings they reach for multi coats into multiple layers of the coating it being a single application coating makes it less susceptible to failing and chipping you know it is long you know presuming that that one that one layer of coating is going on correct you know correctly you know and it’s you know been given the time to cure out you know and all that kind of stuff yeah so Modesto also in addition to their paint coatings they also offer a wheel coating and which is designed to hold up to high heat one of you know when typically when we remove wheels to clean them and coat them off the car we also you know will coat the caliper if it’s been powder coated or if it’s been painted coating will not bond to raw metal so you know these brakes have been recently powder-coated and they look phenomenal so we’re gonna protect them the spoilers on the on the on the Evo is there they’re carbon fiber the problem with the carbon fiber is when when with UV exposure it disintegrates and it breaks down you have to be very careful with what you’re doing you can measure it with with some certain thickness paint thickness gauges but not all not all work because it’s not a ferrous metal obviously so we’re gonna put modesta BC f4 on it and that will protect it from the elements and the UV exposure Trice blasting is something that has the concept has been around for a long time it’s it’s it’s media blasting but the media is dry-ice your engine and you and your your you know your undercarriage and your suspension components they’re pretty delicate and and obviously you know after years of driving in salt and snow and X Y & Z you’ve accumulated you know some some dirt and you know other things that might cause problems down the road additionally you know it’s another thing that I’ve noticed is when everything is clean it’s a lot easier to come you know find problems when they when they occur and troubleshoot them you know accordingly I really like Dreyse blasting because you know you have the ability to clean you know one side of the spectrum we removed the ink off the business card with barely affecting the paper and on the other side of the side of the spectrum people are using this to clean out cement mixers it’s totally adjustable being able to adjust you know the aggression of a cleaning method is really useful so we’re you know going in and cleaning the the suspension components of Ben’s Evo we’re gonna we’re going to try to try to rewind the years on it [Music] you
